If you go into a game without a team take these quick tips with you to make it a more enjoyable experience.
RULE #1:
Control is still team deathmatch. You must be weary of your kd if you can keep a good one you will still be competitive no matter what.
ZONES:
You first and foremost want to control two zones. If your team has two zones do not cap a third zone it's not worth it.
MAPS:
Each map has two beneficial zones to cover. Each map requires you to have B to dominate.
Blind watch: C and B
Twilight gap: By preference for this one. I like A and B because you can snipe down B *Lean toward A and B because a smart gamer stated a good team can then control both heavy spawns*
Firebase Delphi: A and B
Shore of Time: C and B
Rusted Lands: C and B
Asylum: Stated C and B because of the windows to A being vulnerable.
Burning Shrine : one big cf
For the smaller maps it's a toss up imo if you want to suggest your strategy please post it so I can edit this post.
SPAWNS: If you begin your spawn at an undesirable point your team must collectively try to overrun the opposite point. ex you spawn at a on blind watch you must focus efforts to take c. B will come with better ease after this is done. You may want one to stay and cap the beginning point but that is a matter of preference.
All in all you want a fireteam. But hopefully this will be seen and help your random group have more success. This was probably a complete post already made but I can't immediately see it. You can also do well with one point as long as you have a team with great kdrs either way it's up to your team. Add your strategies and good luck.
IMPORTANT EDIT:
HEAVY AMMO:
When you here inbound get there! When it spawns wait for some teammates so they get it too. If you see red on your radar pick it up. -Protip-> if your there looking at it it will drop for you. You can leave it and "save" it until the other team uses theirs so that you can keep yours and not risk giving it up if you die. First heavy drop comes at 9 mins.
Thank you to those contributions.

Yes damn silly one person gets heavy runs into enemy team and dies without a kill and gives them 2-3mins of carnage....like nice one, been following said offenders to see them grt smashed and just bad play. If your team gets heavy ammo more likely you will get 5 streak as opposition have multiple sources of high dmg.

Burning Shrine just hang out outside B and kill people passing through. Went 32-10 my best game ever doing that.
-
39 RepliesHaha oh man, "I am the destiny master. You will do as I say." I'll cap whichever point I please and play as I like since I bought my game. Thanks though.
-
6 RepliesAgree on all except for rusted lands. I much prefer a and b.
-
Your heavy ammo info is spot on.
-
I commend you for sharing. I know some of the more douchey will rag on about how they don't need the tips but I'm sure there are plenty of people who get value from your tips. See you out there guardian

Thank you for posting this. I was getting pissed earlier when people were capping C on fire base.
-
Already knew this, just wish my team wouldn't try to do unnecessary things like take 3 zones..
-
Hard to win when your -blam!-ing team of randoms goes for A when you already control C and B ... Every.-blam!-ing.time ...
-
You should include it comes about every 3 mins for heavy.
-
How often do you suck your own cock?

1 ReplyLiked because I need the Thorn bounty and I suck at PvP. Thanks for the tips.

Oh Destiny PvP maps. How broken and one sided you are.
-
I'm playing right now on XB1 if you wish to join me post your gt

Ohhhhh and heavy ammo. If there are no enemies around, and there are blue dots moving towards you, wait to grab it... if more then one person is there you all get ammo. Share with your teammates.

1 ReplyHope people take note on your control zones.... even some who aren't noobs. Its the most annoying thing when your whole team runs to last uncontrolled zone and your left defending two zones on your own and you get over run and well... then all goes down hill from there because they don't know what they did wrong.

Cauldron and anomaly-don't bother trying to cap the points and go for offensive kills while the enemy is capping instead. Neutralize enemy zones, but don't stay long enough to cap. Must keep moving on these 2 maps. That's how I play them, anyways. Everytime I'm on a team and we try to hold points, just end up getting overran from one side or the other. Found I play/do/score much better when I just keep moving.

1 ReplyBump Lost too many times today because people on my team aren't aware that running to the other end of the map to cap the remaining enemy flag can and most likely will flip the spawns. Getting pinned down from 2 directions and losing despite previously having a 2-5k lead. Extremely frustrating if the same people keep doing that over and over again. It's not good for your team to go for total control, in most cases it's more harm than it could be good.

6 RepliesDisagree with Shores of time. A and C you can snipe for days and multiple escape routes if your in trouble, B zone is a snipers dream come true you will die many many times and when people get heavy ammo they nuke whoever is in B zone.
-
Rusted Lands: A and B. C is too far.

1 ReplyIn all seriousness though, good advice. It's rare that a PVP thread on a Bungie forum is both helpful and polite.
