Why cant the Arbiter use Camo in Co-op?

I was just wondering as when the game came out, my friend and i were doing campaign. I was shocked at how the Arbiter cannot use his Camo in Co-op... Does anyone know why?

 • Also Arby's rechargeable active camo system may have been damaged, seeing as he didn't have an armor upgrade since his expulsion from the covenant. although I can't remember if he used an Elite ship to get to earth, and that would raise questions as to why it wasn't repaired/replaced, also I have no clue as to the elapsed time between end of halo2 beginning of halo3.

 •
Posted by: Terminator05 In Halo 2 you were playing as one, without co-op, but with co-op the players have to be balenced.
Yep, seeing as now in co-op there are the master chief and arbiter and elite models, one is not allowed to do something the other aren't.

 •
imagine it was to prevent people from fighting over who had to host campaign games. if host was disadvantaged every time then noone would host, and so very few people would use online coop.
Kinda make sense [Edited on 07.26.2008 4:46 AM PDT]

 • this issue was bought up way back. when the online coop was first bought up. general agreement was it would be unfair for whoever was player one and master chief. they would have a flashlight and the other players would have camo. i imagine it was to prevent people from fighting over who had to host campaign games. if host was disadvantaged every time then noone would host, and so very few people would use online coop.

 •
Posted by: PainRelief1 It would be a little unfair for the Arbiter to get camo while the Chief gets a flashlight. I didn't care if he did or not. At least we still get them as equipment.
Johnson:"Hey arbiter, we upgraded your armor to use a flashlight incase it gets dark" Arbiter:"But.. won't that make me stand out more because I'll be glowing? :Johnson:"Yeah but, it might get pretty dark" Arbiter:" At least I can go invisible when I have to use it..." Johnson:"I forgot to mention, we had to remove that to make room for the batteries" Arbiter:*Switches to energy-sword*

 • Well it would make it unbalanced, Halo 2 was fine because in co op both players would be either arby or chief. But with Halo 3 as 1 player is chief other is arby, it just makes it a bit unfair. And of course its equipment now. Plus the flashlight is useful in some areas.

 • I'd say it mught be because you can pick up the Invisiblity as equipment, but that's just a guess.
