I personally am not that good at crucible, i mean i have my moments but consistency is an issue with me in the crucy. I only play it for exotic bounties and a little bit when iron banner is live. So is it worth the time to get good at? If i want to get a higher grim score i have to play crucible and i hate it. Not only that, you can play a match which averages around what 15 minutes and not get anything. At least if i run a strike i am going to get an engram. My main question is is it worth playing crucy and not having fun just to get a higher grimscore?
Any of you have the same thoughts about crucible? Is it worth it?

Only with the Dapper Gentlemen.

It's a very frustrating experience. Aside from Iron Banner I wouldn't waste time on it simply because the lag is unbearable. If they ever implement dedicated servers for the crucible then yes but there are way superior multiplayer games out there with soild game states and region lock.
-
i don't and won't use it at all, but last night i got the hardlight from the crucible. No, i wasn't last place either. I was 2nd place with like a 1.6. I suck pretty bad due to NO prior pvp experience in any game. Nothing pisses me off more than how broken the crucible is, but for some reason I cannot stop playing it. I used to absolutely despise it, but then i started to pick up on it and had a few rounds where I would have like a 6.0 kd here and there and even got 11.33 kd in the iron banner one match. That got me hooked. Like you I am extremely inconsistent. If I play on the weekends or at night I get absolutely merced. There is very little inside destiny that is as exhilarating as going ham in the crucible, with the exception of using the sword on hard.

The ability to mash on people playing against you is more rewarding then mashing on crota, not in terms of items but the feeling of becoming a competitive crucible player has been my favorite part of destiny. My average kdr is not the greatest I used to be just like you! Streaky and inconsistent, but that's the crucy curve man. I only play the cruc now until house of wolves comes out. It's a lot of fun but it just takes time to make those streaks to become your average play style. If you can get really streaky you can be great in cruc. Best wishes, Bergyberg

VG Roc over pvp roc has a better chance on legendary engrams also.

If smoggy does it, its good enough for me. ^^

It's worth it if you want to have fun fighting other real people. It's not worth it if you want actual guns and gear. The crucible reward system is trash and needs fixing.
Not necessarily rewards for better players, but at least equal rewards to a vanguard strike. Most crucible games you get nothing.
Not unless there isn't anything else to do in the game. Literally NOTHING else.
-
It IS worth it. You have to prove your skill. Shooting at bots and predictable enemies waiting on RNG to give you a bj is NOT skill. Using what you have to your advantage and using strategy and cunning wit to dominate your enemies who are trying to do the same to you..... Now THAT is glory. Crucible is SO worth it.

I enjoy it, don't let these poor losers get you down.. You'll get plenty of engrams if you play crucible. Have had teammates even get exotics. Just about finding the right balance.
-
It's boring

-
I dunno, its fun for me
-
No, not one bit!
-
It's worth it if you enjoy it. I do. It's a nice change from grinding strikes.

Edited by Jaws: 2/17/2015 1:22:31 AMit's frustrating and fun at the same time. people use all exotic hand cannons or a vex or suros and think they're good because it is easy to kill people with them. you need a good team. most randoms don't know what a radar is used for, so you die a lot even though your ally is right by them. also, you do have a chance at exotics. I used to go afk for a month straight on control and eventually I got a patience and time. btw, aim assist will piss you off.

I love it. It's my main purpose for wanting to get new guns now. All the great ways to bring tears to the opposition. It's a good challenge and one I'm still getting the hang of too.
-
1 ReplyI play it because I like the gun play. Needs more maps with multiple situations and special ammo needs to be reduced so that it is special. As it stands there is little reason to use primaries
-
For bounties and personal enjoyment and maybe item drops
-
Worth it? Depends - I have gotten most of my exotic drops from crucible ands I favor pvp over pve Most ppl will rag it cuz they suck at it but if you simply are trying to learn it and get better at it i say that's worth it enough. As frustrating as it gets sometimes Most of the time it's fun
-
For item reward no. For personal enjoyment that depends on you.
-
I just play it for the bounties.

I got a Suros from clash so I'm biased. I had top score that game though. Anti SmoggyPluto.

It's not worth the Grimoire. But, it can be fun to test new weapons and combos. I just go into it knowing I'm not great, and not to expect anything out of it.
