Nice story so far. I am really enjoying it.
A few things I noticed:
The ship started to shutter again and flames crept across her view as they entered the planets orbit.
> "planets" should be "planet's" (possessive)
The guardians last know transmission location is five hundred meters to the west.
> "guardians" should be "guardian's" (possessive)
> "know" should be "known"
> Might be better written as: "The location of the guardian's last known transmission is 500 meters to the west."
>> I believe any number from 0-10 is written out in words while anything larger is typically written numerically.
>>> For example: two, three, 20, 345
>>> Of course, this could just be a preferential thing.
She sprinted west through the blinding snow towards the guardians last known location and reached it in two minutes.
> Again, "guardians" should be "guardian's" (possessive)
Next to a small arctic dome tent sat a couple stacked crates almost covered in snow.
> "... sat a couple stacked crates..." seems like it would flow better if it was written "... sat a couple of stacked crates..."
>> Might just be me. ;)

That would imply a plural possessive. In this case, it was only one guardian, so "guardian's" is the proper way to write it.
