Grimoire does not equate to experience and or skill.

I have been booted from some forum teams for my grimoire being under 2,300. This is ridiculous Edit #1 DISTURBDDrainman said "Grimoire shows how much you're willing to grind." Just decided to share this. Edit #2 Going to bed so please stop bumping or replying.

  • Here's another way to look at it. I've never ran into anyone that had a grimore score of 2400+ that sucked? It's usually guys like you or lower that usually are scrubs. I know that's kind of biased based on my experiences but still.

    • Definitely equates to experience. Experience in what though? This is a game of grinding, and people are gonna say I'm not good (grim. 2025) for not grinding in EVERY way you can do it? I've been playing since day one and simply do no like shotguns or fusion rifles. That hurts my grimoire. I only really like playing with my Warlock, so that definitely hurts it too. I can't be bothered to get my grimoire up. If I see it go up 5 every once in a while, that's cool. Not really chasing to max it though. I just play how I play

    • Past 2200 it's usually irrelevant But if it's below 2000 it usually means you are inexperienced

      • actually, it does show experience to some degree. the higher the grimoire, the more things someone has done.

      • I've seen a couple people say you can get 800 grimoire from finding dead ghosts.. but thats not true, you can only get about 300. There's approximately 61-63 dead ghosts and each one gives you 5 grimoire so thats just over 300 if you get every one.

Very High (2830) Grimoire = Time played Time played = Experience = Experience Knowledge of how every situation will turn out Knowledge = Ability to control any situation

          • Bump. It's not a 100% accurate meter of skill/experience but generally the higher the better and generally is good enough for most people, especially in LFG teams

          • It certainly does indicates experience. I will agree that skill will always be another matter. You can play a ton and still be awful.

          • Grimoire score literally equates to how much of the game you have experienced....

I agree that it does have a weight on experience etc but what happens to those people who learn game mechanics and are observant players? You can't sit here and say someone who has came from per say a complex game like WOW or something to that nature wouldn't pick up fast? I can be in something and within seconds know what needs to be done and what the outcomes is. Once you do it once you remember it, or maybe I'm just smarter than average people, who knows. There isn't that much content in this game, EX. You having the achievement for killing 5000 dreg VS someone who has killed 3000 shows nothing besides you have more game time.

          • Grimoire has a very high correlation with both time played and experience. I think the issue you're facing is just that people have arbitrarily high expectations.

          • I convinced a guy that your grimoire score goes down when you die he was a 24 with 1400 and I was a lvl 8 with what ever I had at the time I was leveling my third character

            • Generally I have found that low grimoire reflects a lack of skill, which stops past 2100 grimoire.

Grimoire just shows how much you're willing to grind. Mine is 2185 Have 54 Atheon kills and 45 Crota kills and close to 900 hours

Get 2600 then come back and see if experience was gained.

That's crazy talk. It doesn't equate skill, I agree but experience? It absolutely does. I don't think you should be booted or judged according to your Grimore but it is a good reference point.

                  • In response to the edit. I don't see how that is. I grind both raids on hard and nightfalls and weeklies on all three of my characters and my grimoire is like 2150 I don't play for grimoire I play for weapons and armour.

                    • My grimoire score is low, but I perform very well in raids, on vog hard I can run the relic when I'm a 30, I know exactly what to if I am not the relic holder, and often it ends Up being me Who deals the final blow to Atheon since the rest of my team Died from the supplicants or inside the time stream, same goes for ce, except I can't be the sword bearer because I'm not a hunter so I usually just run my Ghorn, grimoire does not equal skill, it's how much time you have played in patrol really

                    • You are only half right. Grimore score actually does show one's experience to a certain degree. It is almost always safe to assume that when picking players for a vault or other events that if one player has a substantially lower score he is likely not as experienced. I have seen a lvl 26 or 27 with a grimore score of 985ish (I didn't even realize this was possible) and in my honest opinion it is safe to assume that if you were to try out normal VoG you would have to walk him through it and the strategies for it. Likewise players with substantially lower grimore scores might now know about all the tips and tricks of this game. Like which flags to cap and not to cap in maps like blndwatch and shores of time. However I find that once you get to around the 1700-1900+ grimore score profiling doesn't kick in quite as much. It is still present a bit but nowhere near as harshly for me.

                    • There's a lot that crucible can get you for the grimore. Pvp experience is valuable. Though I can't see how a 2,300 is inadequate.
