Last night I did Crota Hard and VoG hard and got the Vex Mythoclast (which I know I'm going to upgrade) and the Word of Crota. After doing this I had no chance to really use the weapons
So should I even bother upgrading my Word of Crota? I've heard good and bad things, what's your opinion?

1 ReplyNo its bugged last perk dont work and to be honest there are better hand cannons than this one i would save it tho its usefull for nightfalls with voidburn
-
Fatebringer forever :)
-
It does 2% more damage then fatebringer, but Fatebringer is is still better
-
Yes best hand canon
-
It's okay. Fatebringer is still better. Loved vex for awhile then got tired of it. I upgraded it just to do more damage when I'm at the crota cp
-
I might play a lot more than you, so I might have more material to waste lol. I personally am upgrading all of the weapons. Only have the pulse rifle to go and have plenty of energy to do so. Having said that I would say yes. It is the primary weapon I use in the raid especially at Crota. It is like any other hand cannon with high impact with a decent rate of fire. It also has more range than you will ever need for most of the raid. Plus it is pretty awesome on void burn missions.

I would upgrade it simply for the void burn nightfalls. However if you were asking if you should upgrade it for a "go to" weapon I would say no. It puts out slightly more damage than the fatebringer but just slightly higher and it doesn't have the incredibly useful firefly perk. If you have a fatebringer you should stick with that for everything but void nightfall runs.

Edited by putridcarnage: 2/16/2015 5:47:14 PMYes. The WOC comes in handy on void burn nightfalls and anywhere there are lots of hive majors (though I do prefer the auto over it for that situation). Vex is fun to use from time to time in crucible, but it eats through ammo too quick to use in PVE

1 ReplyYes. The damage at max Attack is slightly higher than Fatebringer. What this means is you get a higher rate of fire + slightly higher damage = more DPS Unless you're talking Crucible. In which case I'd take just about any other HC in the game over WoC. But for PVE it's a no brainer. It's a great HC.

2 RepliesLolol. Don't upgrade either of them, just delete them

Edited by LiL Ray: 2/16/2015 4:15:27 PMImo... and I say this because I am currently upgrading it; do it. I don't have a fatebringer to compare it to but I do have a great roll on a Red hand XI, a gun thats frame closely resembles the fatebringer. Which in my opinion is far easier to handle/see around and aim than the word of Crota. I will say that the re-skin on this gun is clunky and cumbersome at best, however the WOC does throw a lot of pain down range. If you can get around its aesthetics and find a reticle that gets you head shots with it, then I'd say go for it!

2 RepliesNo don't bother, fatebringer outclasses it 10 to 1 easily
-
Like other people keep saying. Any primary with some kind of burn is worth having even if it sucks. I have 2 abyss defiance(that I use regularly as an all purpose auto rifle) and then I have the over soul edict that honestly I don't care much for. But when the nightfall comes up and that particular burn is on or all of them are on, these weapons will work better than anything else. And if you're destiny is anything like mine Void seems to be the rarest burn on weapons. All I have is the raid shotgun and a heavy machine gun between all 3 of my people so getting that hand canon is on my to do list.

8 RepliesRaid primaries should be a priority. Void burn ownage!
-
Why would having both weapons mean you can't use one? What if you're doing nightfall with void burn? What if you want to use Ice Breaker or Pocket Infinity? I don't quite get why you think having one means the other shouldn't be upgraded as well.
-
Yeah it's kind of worth it. Also if you haven't got anything else, it's easy to upgrade with bounties.
-
It's good for nightfalls with void burn but it's not really a good all purpose weapon. Fatebringer is still a better hand cannon.
-
It's OK, not as good as fate bringer but with void burn and explosive rounds that gives a punch especially on the raid
-
Everyone says it sucks but it's really not bad. Id upgrade it until it costs energy and then only upgrade it further if you've got energy you're not using for anything else
-
I'll take it if you don't want it!!
-
Its a beast in void nightfalls. Upgrade it for sure
-
It seems solid, worth upgrading but not super amazing.

Yes upgrade all the raid primaries you get
-
It's awesome!

I did the last of my 3 nightfalls last night. one of my clan members had this thing.. and it was doing serious damage.. now.. granted it's a void burn nightfall.. but it was seriously handy.
