the truth behind true guardians needed heavy synths from xur
Some of us play with a vast group of players of friends and friends of friends. So yes some of us could put together a stacked group and get all of our drops with the 15-20 heavy synths that many of you selfish players say that you would use a week. But many of us help newer players and friends and friends of friends. Hence the vastness of some peoples friends list. You may be selfish enough to only get your drops but some, myself personally included, do nothing but raid helping others. The glimmer farming time required to help out people with xur not selling heavy synths at least once every month makes the game pointless. So to all of you thinking some of these posts are just people whining please people use your heads and remember not everyone are selfish players wanting to stockpile a year's worth of heavys synths in a shot. People are having to farm more than play in this rediculious drought. It is getting harder and harder with things like this to have the time to play with a bunch of people. I personally dont have fun or even really feel like i am playing the game when i log in to farm to have the resources to help and play with friends consistantly. So as it goes most work and have lives, and bought the game to play with friends. Not spend all there time preparing to play.
To those who read this and agree and are a player like myself drop your thoughts. To those who are in my situation and bought 600 heavy synths the last time xur sold them and have easily spent 200k glimmer on more since i feel for you all. But in light of this continuing drought i know just time wise alone i know i have to limit who i help and play with now. which makes me wonder does the community matter or is this game becoming Solo

I agree. I have found some selfish people that say only have 1-2 synth and you see them only using primaries on crota not to mention they don't use heavy on the bridge area to help with sword bearer or to kill shriekers. And on deathsinger they don't help much at all.

2 RepliesI'm set for heavy synths, still over 250 left. I find these friday threads hilarious. The toddlers come out in full force with their whole "if I can't play nobody else can" attitudes, trying to encourage strangers to quit the game with them and giving silly ultimatems to bungie about how the lack of heavy ammo synths in xurs inventory is the cause of all the worlds problems. I'd tell a lot of people to get a grip, but frankly I don't want you to. Reading all these whiny posts makes me feel better than you, and who doesn't like to feel better than others?

Well said, I am exactly in your position. And do to another week of no heavy from Xur I'm taking this week off of Destiny and gonna enjoy some other games. No more farming for me, ever! I'm not going to waste time farming anymore just to enjoy a little bit of gaming when I can just put a different game in and have fun. Who knows, maybe I'll break the addiction and move on completely...

For me, I do many, many raids, weeklies, night falls a week. Also between helping less skilled people, and glitches in the raid, yeah I can kinda go through my heavy. I could glimmer farm, I use to be able to and get it maxed, but now I can barely make it through 20 mins of it before I say ef it even though I need it. It's just so boring.

3 RepliesI honestly believe Xur's heavy ammo drought is intentional by Bungie and not RNG. Think about it. People are beating Crota at a faster pace than Atheon and doing it more easily. They have been unsuccessful in fixing most of the cheeses so how do they make the raid harder? They limit your heavy ammo.

Yea its handy but if you cant make due with what the game gives you then thats your crutch. And before you say im a noob, ive been playing this since alpha and have 3 32s. (Warlock has different armor right now) but seriously im tired of hearing these "great players" crying because they cant pop a heavy synth orngo farm like everyone had to before anyways. Get good. Edit: also ppl dont know this probably but 10 icebreaker shots tske down crotas sheild, thats the 5 ppl shooting 2 times to take him down. And everyone should have one with it being sokd 2 times now.

Ice breaker is for sale today. Just befire you touch crystal to begin crota dump your primary. You need to figure it so your primary ammo is gone just as the crystal shield comes down. So equip icebreaker start the raid. Then dump primary. Every acolyte will now drop heavy ammo. Its tricky you need to at least tag the acolytes then icebreaker will fill your heavy.

Very understandable. Frankly it will push some of the hardcore raiders away and then more folks will fail the raids leading to more player frustration and more players leaving Destiny. Congrats Bungie. You guys are in the lead for most out of touch game developer. I say boycott the exclusion zone. Don't farm glimmer. And if you can't buy heavy ammo then don't buy any and if that means you can't or don't want to raid then don't raid. Play other games, or spend time elsewhere. And maybe Bungie will actually come here to their own forums and finally put 2 and 2 together and figure out why so many players are leaving (many reasons not just heavy ammo and Xur). I for one will be raiding less. Just saving marks, doing weeklies and preparing for HoW.

Yeah, I have found I am turning down a lot of raid request now because I am just tired of farming. I have become more conservative in using Heavy Synth but when helping new teams that wipe, the bug is just brutal. I can't afford to help anymore and it makes me sad.

I agree with you. Raiding is fun. Helping other people defeat the end bosses is fun. But using up heavy ammo synths is not fun. They are too valuable due to needing them for hard Ce raid. I am like you glimmer farming is not fun at all.

did a bunch of people tell you they decided they didnt want to use heavy syn in a raid with you when youre helping people? I dont see what you are so truly upset about because i doubt anyone is going to gloat during a raid about how much heavy they have saved up.

I wanna enjoy the game as much as possible... Grinding to level up, that's one thing. Grinding for glimmer?!?! No thank you!!! I use that glimmer to level up weapons and armor... Not Heavy Synth!! I think there's too much complaining about Xur not selling it, BUT it also lets players ENJOY the game more by doing Raids and such... Isn't THAT a good thing?!?! I'm so sick or randoms saying: "Heavy Glitch?!?!" In Crota... Wastes so much time. Also, strange coins are a valid economy in the game and most of us Veterans have nothing to spend it on anymore except for Heavy Ammo Synths!!! So yah, it's NOT an outrage, but it is a bit frustrating that Xur doesn't offer them for this long... Players wouldn't feel this frustrated and cheated if Bungie would FINALLY fix the heavy ammo glitch...

Bungie themselves admitted that grinding is no fun - that's why they gave us the option to buy planet-specific upgrade materials. Yet for some reason they're fine with making us grind for glimmer. That must constitute "fun" for Bungie devs, since they obviously don't see this as a double standard.
