Heavy Ammo Glitching, Really?!
First off, how unnecessary is this crappy exploit?
If you play this game enough to participate in hard raid but don't have enough glimmer to buy heavy ammo synth then wtf are you spending your glimmer on?
Secondly, glimmer isn't hard to obtain.
If you properly pop consumables when fighting the many, many, minions of darkness you shouldn't EVER run out of glimmer.
(Unless IB just came and went lol)
Last but not least, and my reason for this whole post, my real gripe with this exploit...
The time it takes all these stingy guardians to switch weapons around and drain ammo just to get heavy ammo is just frustrating.
We all know at some point you're just gonna cause us to wipe because of your incompetence and inability to follow the simplest directions.
Edit: People, please, if you use this exploit properly then by all means use it. But please if you see players draining their auto rifles to do this exploit (such as I always see) then say something to them. Explain that switching to a hand cannon takes away ammo and severely lessens the ammo pool that has to be drained.

2 RepliesYup. Worst idea ever. Who wants to have 30 heavy ammo packs laying around in the crystal room next to 30 orbs of light. I mean if you can't down crota with the no land beyond u should uninstall the game.

It's almost 1000 glimmer for 1 synth.

Firstly, glimmer runs through my pockets like water. Leveling weapons and armor requires a lot of it, and so does Xur for his upgrades. Heavy synth drains it as well. Even with gaining 1-2k per ROC strike, that barely lets me buy a couple upgrades.

It's not an exploit. It was put in place because what are you going to do when you legitimately run out of ammo? Go punch a boss in the face? I think people are bad players, and have no skill if they really sit there and dump all their ammo just for a couple rockets. They're pathetic, but it's not an exploit. The ammo thing also doesn't work with juggler.

9 RepliesHere's the best way to use this without wasting people's time. While loading into the event like hard Crota, make sure the weapon your want to use is right next to the weapons used for the exploit. Saves time on switching. Next, use a HAND CANNON. Some advice no land beyond or universal remote, but then you have to switch off of it to ice breaker before shooting stuff. That's a waste of time. Just use a HAND CANON. Empty your heavy buy switching heavy weapons. Takes two or three swaps and you're clear. Quicker than firing if your machine gun ad nauseum. Fire your hand canon until you have 1 full clip in the bib and 2 in reserve. If you use fatebringer or word of Crota, that's 12 in the gun and 24 in reserve. Once here go wait at the Crystal on hard Crota. You won't get refilled and can fire what remains before the windows disappear. Then once the Crystal is activated, empty everything until you have about a half clip remaining when your radar pops up. Then empty as quick as possible at that point. Hoy should be empty when the Glass goes and you start firing with ice breaker. BOOM! Heavy ammo for days without holding up your team. One last note, in case of wipe, switch weapons during loading screen. You're ready to go and you should only need to worry 2-3 clips art the restart.

NOBODY in this game wants to farm glimmer. If you say you don't mind it then you are lying to yourself. Using heavy ammo synthesis over and over is pointless especially when people aren't spending their strange coins on armour bc we don't need any more. If you want to grind for glimmor then by all means. For me, I'd like to spend my coins on something just like my motes of light that are just sitting everywhere.

The price of Heavy Ammo in the Tower is ridiculous and Glimmer farming is just as cheesy but twice as tedious. 500 Glimmer for Heavy Ammo sounds about right with Primary being at 100 and Special at 250. Why the -blam!- is Heavy so damn expensive? (Answer: "Because -blam!- you, that's why." ~Bungie)

It's a good glitch tried it myself last night and you never need to worry about using your heavy. You can use it on the SB and ogers. Makes it easy, even more so if you use ruin wings.

dude...glimmer takes much longer to obtain than using this exploit. Also, I would like to know how it is that using said exploit in an indication of one's competence in the crota encounter. Also, not everyone uses hand cannons. The exploit can be done successfully with any primary weapon without a significant difference in the time it takes.

lol yeah it's soooooo much quicker to mind numbingly shoot cabal hours on end for glimmer.... rather than spend 20 seconds emptying my 30 hand cannon rounds gtfo here lol

Use no land beyond. Takes less than a minute. Farming glimmer to get the same amount of heavy = a lot longer.

If people do it properly it takes around 30 seconds more assuming you just activate the crystal right away. I have lots of synths left but I would still encourage people to do this every single run. Reason's being: 1) Impossible for anyone to run out of heavy / be on synth cooldown. If you wiped after your boy just used a synth and shot 2 rockets you're waiting 5 minutes unless someone compensates DPS or you do the glitch. 2) Allows for liberal use of rockets on Ogres / Swordbearer. Ie. if you use a synth and no other heavy drops you only get 0-2 rockets to use on anything else besides Crota the whole time.

2 RepliesIt's also nice getting enough heavy ammo so that people can afford to fire rockets at the sword bearer, 2 rockets at Crota, and have enough rockets to kill the ogres without having to risk sniping them.

2 RepliesThe best part are the clowns that spawn with 3 rockets but dump them to do the glitch. Then, these asshats die before they use any of the rockets they gained from the glitch. Bro, you spawned with three. That's enough for now. If you can't make it out of the crystal room without getting killed, you're not going to need all 7 of those.

This isn't a glitch lol. It's taking advantage of Bungie's ammo system. All you're doing is draining your ammo. You can do this at any point in the game, not just the raid.
