Yesterday I got the Word of Crota and I love it. I still haven't been able to get the Fatebringer and I'm kinda starting to give up on it. Is it still worth the Templar grind or should I just stop trying?
Edit: So there are a ton of people saying that it is amazing for arc nightfalls, however I already have the fang of ir yút and the oversoul edict which is also great. Does it perform better than those as well?
Edit 2: Holy shit that's a lot of comments. I'm in school and my phone is going of like crazy. Don't stop commenting though. Thank you all for the advice.
Edit 3: It seems that everyone has the same idea about the Fatebringer, so I have decided to try and get it. I am on Xbox one. My Gamertag is Zdudel11. Add me and we can get a group together for VoG. Thank you.

1 Replyi still use fatebringer as my primary. It shits on the word.
-
Ya once the next dlc drops it wont be anymore everything will be over lvl 30 accept strikes so thats all it will be good for well i guess arc burn but we have the fang now
-
Not unless it too can be upgraded during HoW. The new level cap will show a difference in damage, especially against elites.
-
Yes worth the grind for sure. Precision kills with AOE on surrounding mobs is amazing! Would like to get Word of Crota though, for Void strikes...Sounds pretty amazing as well. Good luck on finding it bro. Took me only 3 Templar tries...

If you love Michael Bay movies the Fatebringer is for you!

Edited by MaCDaddyshrimp: 2/12/2015 9:26:03 PMFatebringer is bae ( before anything else ) if you didn't know this gun R A P Es grapes!!!
-
I would love to get a fatebringer. I have no interest in the rest of VoG on hard, but if that's ok with you, go ahead and send me an invite if I'm on.
-
3 RepliesI will add you because I need to get VOG done badly
-
8 RepliesTell you the truth I got the word of crota and it's the new fate bringer with higher damage output
-
Edited by Roughneck: 2/12/2015 9:14:35 PMFatebringer is better than Word (imo). If you're looking for a replacement arc primary Fang is good. However, the increased zoom and missing Firefly perk makes it lacking compared to Fate in terms of close combat. Mid to long range is great though. Word on the other hand is poor all around.

It's really hard to quit the Fatebringer. Firefly is so awesome on it... That said, it really shows its age on the hard mode of Crota and it's making me live without it rather effectively. I fear it's days are truly numbered for my usage outside of arc burn.
-
2 RepliesI hate Fatebringer for hard mode Crota. There are just better options (331 dmg). But for normal mode and anything lvl 30 below it is my favorite weapon
-
2 RepliesNo -blam!-ing crap...
-
3 RepliesNo I would grind for the fang of it yut, such a beast gun.
-
Yes it's still a great weapon
-
Is Fatebringer worth the grind? Only if you want the best hand cannon for PVE in the game PERIOD.
-
I do VoG for fun, my growing collection of Fatebringer energies are a side effect of having fun with friends. I did keep and max one of them, I'm not silly. And yes, it's still a very useful weapon for now.
-
Hell yea
-
Yes because of the fact that "legends never die" it will always be bad azz. The firefly perk will always be helpful for low level hordes of mobs rushing at you no matter the DLC I think.
-
11 RepliesNo, it's shit
-
Yes. I still use it despite the 331 guns out there.
-
2 RepliesFatebringer.com

1 ReplySo good for the Abyss Section on CE. I also use it for absolutely everything else in Destiny except after the Deathsinger on CE.
-
I got it the other day and even unleveled it's a great hand canon
-
1 ReplyI'm in the same boat. No fatebringer yet, but I have word of crota (also from last night) and have fang of ir yut. I'll probably keep trying for fb just because it is so hyped. Don't need it for arc nightfall and woc will be a good go to hc (love the snappy feel with the high rof). It seems worth getting, even if it doesn't end up seeing a ton of use from here on out.
-
4 RepliesAbsolutely! I use it on the CE HM and it does the job superbly!
