After weeks of getting only getting boots and a single chest piece and early this morning after the reset being the best run, getting ONLY energy and shards, I've been stuck at level 31. Fortunately enough, a really chill guy that raids with my friend often decided to let me tag along for CE hard mode later today, mainly because I have a 331 Gally. Although I really wanted to wait until becoming 32 on a character before attempting hard mode (and completing it. Lamps and bridge are pretty easy) I'm taking him up on his offer. I know the differences between normal and hard (no revives, no chalice, Shriekers respawn, etc.). [b]I need some tips on how I can do well and survive in Deathsinger and Crota[/b]. Especially Deathsinger. Bullet sponges everywhere. When I get to these parts is when I'll be using Gally. I have a maxed out Efrideet's Spear w/ Extended Mag (sadly is Void) that I normally find better than BH for me because I'm not great at chaining crits and even worse at sniping those constantly moving witches. I'm thinking about using Light Of The Abyss (318 atm) because of Hive Disruptor and it'll help for Knights that are too close to comfortably snipe. Only maxed legendary primary I have that I'd even consider using is TFWPKY 1969. Everything else is either max 300 or will get soaked up due to low impact. I do have a 331 Cryptic Dweller with Explosive Rounds and Firefly but the impact is low for a scout rifle. Now for Crota, the regen modifier may get the best of me. I have Third Man and can use Hungering Blade. I also have Suros but that takes up the exotic slot. IF I feel that I need to use Suros, would a 331 rocket with Cluster Bomb be a suitable replacement for Gally? Thanks ahead for the tips. I hope RNGesus won't get the best me for much longer. EDIT: I wasn't expecting this much response. I've been reading through and replying to what I can. General consensus is all invisibility perks, Mask Of The Third Man for regen, support from afar and let the team know when I need orbs (for Third Man regen). Most of the strats I've read are either things I already do or know this team does. There are a few tips I would have never thought of and will put them to use. The 32 that wanted to take me to hard mode was helping people in VoG so tonight should be the night. After some testing and trying weapon suggestions I've decided to use with TFWPKY 1969, Black Hammer once I get the glimmer to max it (Icebreaker for bridge and lamps) and Gjallahorn (Song Of Ir Yut for bridge). The scout rifles I have take longer to kill than my hand cannon. EDIT 2: Thanks again for the tips. We made the attempt last night. Lamps and bridge went smoothly. Deathsinger was a lot easier than I imagined it would be. Took 2 attempts because someone went Leroy Jenkins on us while some of us weren't ready so they got scolded when we failed. On our second run I went in Crota's right boomer tower and did work with Vision of Confluence and Efrideet's Spear. When the higher ups killed the shriekers I hit a knight for invis and shot a couple Gallys at her from on top one of the doors then booked it when someone said she was down. From there I went back to the boomer tower and worked on the remaining enemies. We didn't beat Crota, but not due to me getting killed or not following the plan. Crota would bug out and hit our swordbearer while he was invis, the person on boomers wouldn't be fulfilling their duties while swordbearer was on the left rock...just small things. When we decided to pick up the next night they said I had done well. I was using Bladedancer for Crota but I never felt the need to use any of the abilities or super, so tonight I'll try out Gunslinger with Third Man helm.
