I don't think any time soon. Sony and Microsoft will keep supporting the older consoles as long as they keep making money.
When the big consoles say "it's ok, you don't have to spend 350$ to buy the new system to play our new games." People are not going to spend that money.

All new games that are on both next and last gen consoles are being dialed down so that last gen consoles can run them. The cosmodrome in Destiny was supposed to be 4-5 times larger than it is currently because they had to run it on older consoles. Xbox 360 and PS3 will become useless to developers in 2016
