Religious texts are no different than books of fairy tales, but for grown ups. It doesn't teach logical, rational thinking. Talking snakes? Burning bushes? Parting entire seas? I think anyone can, and that's a misconception/generalisation that very much annoys me. Equally, being a Christian =/= going to heaven. The old testament is only taken LITERALLY by small groups of Evangelists. No Christian I know (myself included) believe anything in the old testament to be more than story. At the end of the day, you have to remember that the bible was written by human beings, who are very much fallible creatures by their nature. I could go on, I really don't hate Atheists or any non-christian (having been an atheist/agnostic for a long time myself.) It seems like, if anyone, you're the one that has an issue with tolerance.[/quote]
