Reason to buy a XB1?
Hello fellow guardians.
I'm a PS guy, since PS1, and play Destiny and everything else on PS4. I've been wanting to buy a Xb1 for a while, so I want to know what I'm missing by not having a XB1. Why should I buy one?
Please keep it cordial, not looking for a console war here.
EDIT: just to clarify, since this answer popped a couple of times, I will still continue to play Destiny on PS4, cause progress and stuff (and Hawkmoon :D). XB1 will be ANOTHER console, not a replacement.

Buy it for the exclusives and/or your friends play on it often. I also bought mine because of the "all in one" aspect of it. I love all of the little extras it has.

Buy it for the games. If the games don't interest you, then don't bother.

The only reason would be if you want to play the exclusives. I bought an Xbox one first, because I prefer the exclusives, and most of my friends play on it. I bought a ps4 later, however I almost never play on it as any games that I'd want to play are out for both.

Exclusives and your friends are the two best reasons to buy a console. For all of Destiny's faults, it has some remarkable technical achievements (and some darn fine gunplay) and it's exciting to see a game like this in the very first year of this console generation. I'm excited to see what next year brings, and No Man's Sky has this X1 owner eyeing a PS4...

Exclusives, better multi-functionality, snapping sports while playing games, being able to shout at it to pause and play tv when your walking into/out of the room, remote play is being added soon to work on any windows 10 device (which will be a free upgrade from windows 8) so even if you have it in your lounge as it's kind of designed for you can play your xbox games on your laptop anywhere in the house

You really should only buy an xbox one if you have friends to play with on it. No point on buyin another console and paying another subscription service.

XBL has more reliable online so if you play online games a lot get an Xbox One also you can play games when PSN goes down.

Honestly, you should get one if you like the XB1 exclusives, otherwise just stick with your PS4. I have an XB1, and will probably get a Ps4 when Uncharted comes out, because I want to play it. I had both an Xbox and PS3 last gen. Still have my Ps3. If there isn't an exclusive you want to play on XB1, I would say wait or don't get one.

I bought my xbone because me and my friends are Xbox people, have been for awhile. We were early adopters and I couldn't regret it more (I know early adopters pay the price but w/e). In all honesty, there's no difference, couple exclusives, the xbone is a media center so that's cool I guess. The only major upside is that I strongly prefer the Xbox controller to the PS.

TRUST me. But the X360. There are THOUSANDS of great games on there and it's not as buggy as the One can be. Hell, they even give out FREE GAMES every month if you have Xbox Gold. And they're actually good games.

Controller and kinect voice commands actually work ok. Better layout in general and especially in store/videos I think.

8 RepliesBetter controller - both ergonomics (triggers are much better) and build quality (ps4 controller has plastic hinges for the triggers that are susceptible to breaking). Ps4 has better hardware and is much faster in performing operations, but I like the os of the xbox better - although some things are hard to navigate to / find. Games wise there ain't too many notable xbox exclusives, but if you have never had an xbox the halo MCC is a must and a good buy for the price. If you have the cash (and friends on the system - this is a bigger deal than you first think) then why not?!? ;)

9 RepliesI have both ps4 (white destiny bundle) and white xbox one with Destiny. I use the kinect fitness and dance games. The interface is much better than playstation as is the controller because the left and right fire buttons are closer for my hands. The Ps4 controller for summoning your sparrow is way better because you do it with 1 thumb and still control your toon instead of two thumbs and no control on Xbox. I use my xbox for Netflix too and have more friends there. Once planet side 2 comes out in ps4 I'll be back on that sometimes but all the free mmorpgs seem to be coming out on Xbox one
