Hello fellow guardians.
I'm a PS guy, since PS1, and play Destiny and everything else on PS4. I've been wanting to buy a Xb1 for a while, so I want to know what I'm missing by not having a XB1. Why should I buy one?
Please keep it cordial, not looking for a console war here.
EDIT: just to clarify, since this answer popped a couple of times, I will still continue to play Destiny on PS4, cause progress and stuff (and Hawkmoon :D). XB1 will be ANOTHER console, not a replacement.

12 RepliesIf you have the money and you want one then go for it. Though expect - Lower resolution on most games than PS4 - Lower Framerate on most games than PS4 - Xbox Live gold games are not as good as the PS+ lineup

1 ReplyHalo....? Think mostly everything else worth getting is muli-platform.

2 RepliesIn my opinion, here's what's different: PS4 has better hardware, lousier software; XB1 has better software, lousier hardware; Both consoles are great, I've played both and my girlfriend got me an Xb1 Christmas. My Xbox has no Kinect and it functions fine. Go ahead and get one, the exclusive games for it are pretty fun and the other games that aren't exclusive look and play just fine. The Party system is bugged and wonky but overall it's a good console. And since you have a PS4 you get the best of both worlds.

I've played both and I enjoyed both. I have a ps4 and its a badass system. If you have the cash, why not get an xbox one also. Either way I'm sure you'll enjoy it. It's all about your own personal opinion. As much as I love my ps4 I regret not getting a Xbox one because all my friends are on Xbox. Oh well at least they don't know I like playing Lego games.

If you like Netflix, XB1 If you want to play good games, PS4
-
I have both ps4 and Xbox one. I was an Xbox fan boy for longest time I can remember, I switched to psn when I got ps4. Realized I've been missing out, ps4 is all around better

Xbox servers almost never go down. I always see people complaining about PS being down. I have little precious time to play destiny, and what time I have is never interrupted by server issues.

My blu ray player broke and I game with my PS4. The XB1 released Halo:MCC and I was in need of a dedicated blu Ray player so $350 later + MCC voila.
Matthew 6:24King James Version (KJV) 24 No man can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and mammon.
I have both and have since release day. I have about 12 games for the Xbox 1 and thoroughly enjoy my time there. My playstation collects dust. It's probably not worth it to buy both unless there is some exclusive you can't live without.

Microsoft exclusives are pretty cool, I personally beluve it to be much more user friendly as well.

pick either an xbox one or a ps4. the only reason to pick either is the exclusives. Also keep in mind that xbox live is vastly superior to ps network. Coming from 360 to ps4, there is no doubt that xbox is better in that regard. what I did: ps4/wiiU/pc. theres no reason to buy an xbox if you have a ps4, unless you simply can't live without certain exclusives.
-
Dunno about PS4, but xbox live was infinitely more user friendly in the 360 era for social gaming. Xboxone is cumbersome IMO. I'm getting a PS4 this year anyway, but hopefully xbone can get enough updates to run as seamless as 360 did.

The only reason to buy an xb1 would be to play exclusive Microsoft games
-
Unless you lose a bet don't buy one.

Edited by Always Unreal: 2/12/2015 1:33:56 AMIf your on PS4 I would stay there. I love my xb1 but it is far from polished. Lag issues and other problems make it a work in progress. But hey these are all fixable problems and the xb1 hasn't been out for nearly as long as the 360. If you really want one go ahead, but don't expect perfection.

4 Replieslol at people saying 60 dollars a year is overpaying. 20 cents a day. I don't know how I have any money to eat left after that. FYI OP i have been affected by TWO outages in the last year. One on titanfall release day last march and one just a couple weeks ago randomly. i don't play ps4 so not comparing the two, just making it clear that xbox live service is GREAT for the money, especially since I hear you have to pay for PS network now

Well..I have a ps3 and 360.. Two main reasons I went w Xbox 1 1. My account info was not hacked on the 360. 2. 360 had an easier to use social interface. Sooooo You already have a ps4.. to late to worry about compromise. Xbox 1 went backwards on the social interface. Personally I want one of each... But I'm addicted to technology.

Don't buy one.
-
I'm going to be getting an Xbox 1 because of all the cool indie games. I also really want super hot.
-
I bought my Xbox One when Titanfall released and really enjoyed it. I still like my PS4, although I rarely use it. All my friends play on Xbox and since Phil Spencer took over, Xbox has improved a lot. I'm really looking forward to The Order:1886. I think you'll enjoy it, but I like the exclusives on PS4. Invest in the Play N Charge and the chat adapter if you play a lot and use a Headset.

A new Gears of War is coming out.
-
I only got xbox one bc all my friends play xbox...that's the only reason that would make sense ps4 it's better
-
Well a big game that I specifically got my One for was for Halo 5, also Scalebound just sounds really impressive. I can't wait to see what it's all about. Also, Quantum Break.
-
Well, any multiplayer games/PvP are always more competitive on the Xbox.
-
Buy it for halo 5 and the mcc.
