Tying Up Loose Ends
Remember those useless NPCs I mentioned back in Part 1? Here are some great ways to improve them and make them relevant to your core gamers.
Special Orders: One word, (is it a word?) Micro-Transactions. It's great that Tess holds onto all my DLC/exclusive/code content here. It really is. But why not add in a little store that would allow players to pay for small in-game character customizations? Like programmable Shaders, Facial Re-Customization, etc? There are plenty of players that would pay for something like this or a new voice for their Dinklebot. And the best part is that it would be totally optional and not hinder the core gameplay experience.
The Guardian Outfitter: For starters, make her stock of preset Shaders actually rotate out on a daily/weekly basis. "Oh look! She has the exact same six Shaders again this week! Yay!" Said no one ever. Next, make her the focal point for all the programmable Shaders I was talking about earlier. If these are bought from Special Orders, why not give the player a voucher that can be redeem with the Outfitter? This would drop you directly into a menu screen so you can choose your Shader design.
The Gunsmith: Seriously, give this guy a purpose. Not only did you shove him into a back corner, but you're wasting his amazing robot talents for MAKING AWESOME GUNS!! There are two awesome things that you could do for this guy that would make the game much more interesting. First, give him the ability to re-roll weapons. This would work just like it does for Iron Banner. Fork over a few Motes of Light (which are currently worthless) and you get to reset the experience and all the perks on any given weapon. The only weapons this would not work for would be Exotics (obviously) and Raid weapons. Secondly, let him sell Weapon Shaders. There are so many cool designs on some of the most useless guns in the game (usually Rare quality). Give him some kind of rotating stock and let players buy their own Weapon Shaders.
The Speaker: Maybe he should actually tell us something (I could tell you about...). Seriously, it just seems to me that he should be more heavily involved in the game than he actually is. Why not make him the jumping off point for a few quests? Hell, give him some of his own quests. He could even have an entire subplot devoted to his own investigations (through you of course) into the Corruption of various Guardians.
That's is all I've got for now. Feel free to share any ideas you might have for improving the game.
Edit: Here are a few great ideas that have been shared in the responses.
From Nova Explorer: Facial re-customization through Special Orders. Possibly a Micro-Transaction.
From KaleidoscopeEyz: 1k-ish Glimmer from scrapping Ships and Sparrows.
From EntrePath: Access to Grimoire through Speaker/Speaker room.
Edit 2: Great ideas for Tower Factions from StarGrayzer.

7 RepliesNo. Stfu! The last thing we want is micro transactions! Especially if activision is involved!

1 ReplyNice feedback

1 ReplyGtfo with pay to play... nothing will ruin this game faster!
-
1 ReplyCompanies that use Micro-transactions are -blam!-ing scum!
-
1 ReplyFantastic suggestions, you should tag both posts as feedback!!! I especially liked the content related to factions in the original post!

Yes, all of these are great ideas.

This, All Of This!!

Not sure how to "fix" it, but I know how they can keep us playing longer. The Paroxysm Exotic Auto Rifle!! https://www.bungie.net/en/Forum/Post/100403268

1 ReplyI'm not too sure about adding THOSE kinds of micro-transactions that allow people to get way ahead of other players... But, I think it'd be fine to have micro-transactions for cosmetic items, like Shaders. I thought up of even having cosmetic changes to already-owned Exotics. It would be like Xur upgrading exotics: You would have to first purchase the voucher to change the exotic's appearance, them have the exotic in the first place. Bring it to either Eva or Banshee, and they'll change the exotic's appearance (while keeping the experience, of course.)

4 RepliesI agree with everything but not micro-transactions people shouldn't be able to pay for coins to instantly get exotics it is easy enough already and would only end up turning destiny into another game where if you spend $5-10 you are instantly better than everyone else... I'd prefer more bigger better expansions and HoW already looks like a major improvement over the dark below and the comet looks absolutely huge.

3 RepliesAbsolutely no Micro-Transactions. I would sacrifice all these other great suggestions just to ensure no Freemium BS gets in.
-
1 ReplyYes! Atleast put all grimoire info into the speakers room area to be accessible somehow: interface with the circular instrument in the middle of the room to learn histories of each region and what not.
-
No micro transactions. But I do like the idea of re-rolling guns.

Also, we're on the same page about adding a whole lot of Quests. They were great additions to TDB, ans I'm honestly disappointed that I can't replay some of them. Quests 5ever. I really do like Quests. Give 'em to all of the useless vendors!

8 RepliesStopped on Special Orders. Keep this free-to-play (I am not even talking freemium) bullshit out of my 60$ game.
