How is this possible?
Team leaders must be in contact with each other first.
When both teams are ready to go, teams will deploy to Control or DLC Control.
If it doesn't match up, cancel search and try again.
After 1 match is completed, teams have to wait in the game for the next match to start.
This is beyond stupid... not calling you stupid, just ridiculously stupid that tournaments are really not possible due to there being no custom games. Every serious PvP game in the last 10 years has had custom games...

This is one thing why Destiny is currently dying. I'm trying to get some activity back to Destiny with this tournament. Same happened with Killzone Shadow Fall. It had no clan system, game started to slowly die, people created own brackets and it started to grow back up, but then again people started to leave... no official clan games until it was too late... now there are like 200 players playing.

To be honest, any fps with strong pvp focus (which seems to be a majority of modern games) ABSOLUTELY needs private, competitive matches along with rankings and clans to increase the longevity of a game. It's become a necessity instead of a just an add-on mechanic. As you mentioned, KZ: SF died due to the lack of clan systems for competitive play.

My question is... HOW did the creators of Halo mess this up?!?! how did they not know this?!?!?! lol... this is PvP 101. I am embarrassed for whoever made the decision to leave this out.

Agreed. The game is just incomplete. It's missing so many core features that go into a great rpg, mmo, or fps these days. They got the shell at least. I'm just kind of waiting till Destiny 2, unless the DLC and expansion add some major stuff.

well... I was really really hoping that the Crota DLC would add something else big like transmutation or even small stuff like ghost skins... at least throw us a curve ball. PvP is too far gone in my opinion... the only fix I can think of would be a new playlist like MLG, where there were no supers and secondary ammo wasn't EVERYWHERE... at least that would create a more balanced playing field. But I agree, they are missing SO much without custom games. As big as the MLG scene has become in the past few years, I have no idea why bungie would turn a cold shoulder to one of their most loyal fan bases.

The way I would have done pvp is two modes: crucible where everyone is equal to start (same weapon, no supers or abilities) and just do either pick ups (old school method) with everything, or xp where you unlock stuff as you go. Then you incorporate modes like ctf, control, etc. into this with competitive clans. This also allows more variation for custom games imo. And 2nd, Faction Wars that are larger scaled battles and you come in with everything from pve (so iron crucible but like a 12v12 for larger areas) and you play on patrol maps with boundaries while representing a faction. Also, this mode could have factions fighting for territories that offer materials, and boosts. Conquer whole planets and you get mission and strike bonuses (like 10% increased loot) for that planet. Areas could be like a tug of war where teams have to consistently win to get a territory.

That sounds soooo much better than that bare bones crap they have now... I mean I am good at PvP, but it is so broken. I love the idea of faction wars. If I remember right, they were going to have way more factions and things in the game right?... I think it was cut before launch like everything else. That is what kills me the most, destiny had potential to be one of the greatest FPS games ever... and I feel like it was rushed and cut up for profit. I still play whenever I get bored, but I am honestly looking forward to the witcher 3 more than anything.

To the best of my knowledge, Faction Wars WAS Crucible and factions had a greater impact, but they scrapped it to bare bones as you said. But I heard they are working on it again. Not sure how though. The other thing is scrap loot rewards for crucible completely! Instead, have weekly, monthly and yearly rewards for being the top player or clan. It makes the game TONS more competitive than this "participation award..." This is not elementary school haha.
