For competitive gamers one of the biggest flaws with destiny is the inability to setup organized matches against other fireteams in PvP. If you are like my team the odds are when you play as a group of 6 you wipe the floor with a bunch of randoms and there isn't much need to use teamwork or improve gameplay. It is time the community comes up with a solution.
My proposal is that we setup Destiny PvP nights. Either 2 or 3 nights a week fireteams log on and queue at the same times to try to get games against each other. Bungie has stated that they tweeked the matchmaking system to try to put similar size fireteams against each other. With this in mind here is my proposal.
2 or 3 nights a week (I propose Wed, Fri, Sun) we the community agree to log on with complete fireteams between the hours of 6p-9pm Pacific (9-midnight eastern). To help with matchmaking all fireteams should queue for a control match every 20 minutes (6:00,6:20,6:40,7:00.....) Fireteams should be rocking the same emblem so they can be easily identified as a complete team.
If we are able to get a large group of teams to commit to this we could submit screen shots of completed matches and start to create a ranking system for each console with rankings based on margin of victory and quality of opposition. We would need to put a cap on the number of matches a team could earn points for in a given week as there is no way to guarantee teams getting matched up with each other.
If you would be interested please include your team name and console in the comments and we can begin formulating a list.
TL;DR read it if you are interested in organizing team vs team pvp.

This is a good idea the only thing I would have to say is that even when trying to match against teams it often has not worked in my experience. Me and 5 players I roll with tried to match against void clan, their leader in our party chat and searching at the same time, we tried around 15 times and then gave up. I have done this between friends 6v6 successfully twice. The problem here is Bungie has a conflict of interest with Activision being their publisher. If you added custom games to Destiny many players competitive and others would switch from cod to play Destiny and in this scenario Activision would lose money. This is why Destiny will most likely not support custom games for a long time.

I would love this idea, though I'm afraid of the crazy MLG team of Expendables wrecking shit all the time. You would know who they were cause of the emblems. Basically they have a "full" team. A Sniper (Icebreaker/P&T/NLB Shotgun Maniac (Invective/Universal Remote) Mid-Range guy (Thorn/Bad Juju/Red Death/Suros/Vex/Plan C/Pocket Infinity) Long range guy (MIDA) Close range guy (Hardlight) The Heavy (Gjallahorn/Truth/Dragons Breath/Thunderlord/SGA) Please correct me if I'm wrong or tell me if I forgot an exotic

kinda like the honor system in dark souls. the game has very unbalanced things so people made up there rules like: no back stabs, no hitting another while they bow, no magic spaming, not rb spam, etc. so many people share the idea. also how people host fight clubs and stuff like that

Or only a dedicated mode would be cool cauz some ppl can't play at night :) sounds great anyways, with competitions and shaders or stuff for winners so everyone can see they're teamplayers, it a rank like crucible it vanguard, depending of your team scores... Would be really great!!

3 RepliesEdited by Wren: 2/11/2015 9:09:45 AMgood idea but there's to many people playing to have groups actually meet up.

Yeah best of the best is always a good idea..... But it can not spill over to normal pvp. Playing a coordinated pvp team in normal pvp would make even the most hardcore destiny pvp player stop playing. Should there be a tourny that features the best pvp players?....OH YEAH. Should they get somekinda great pvp advantage reward....NO! (they are already the best). The only thing you should get from being the best of the best in pvp some distinguishing feature on your character...

Sounds pretty cool. We could all rock the beta tester emblem lol

1 ReplyI think that would work, and work well to the point it actually becomes an option instead of on random matchmaking

I think it's a awesome idea. Who knows, bungie might see it and give them some motivation to add some form of organized matches
