There's no reason to not have facebook.

I don't understand all the hate Facebook gets on this forum, it's retarded. It's like the majority of you hate everything connected with a social life and mainstream popularity. It's great for keeping in touch with people, setting up events and organizing things. I'm just wondering how people on this forum organize group tasks with larger amounts of people? If I get put in charge of organizing something with my project group I just make a post on the FB project group and it's done. Everyone can see eachothers' posts and there's no confusion. Good luck gathering everyone at the same time IRL or using texts and email. As for "stupid" posts I just laugh at them, you can choose who you add too so if that bothers you just ignore or block certain people. In my opinion a lot of you probably have little friends and blame others claiming they're too stupid etc. It's a common theme here; loners take the "most people aren't worth my time" route. There's zero reason, in my opinion, to not have a Facebook. Besides the real awkward kids in my school I don't know anyone who doesn't have FB. [Edited on 05.06.2012 9:24 AM PDT]

[/quote] Let me give you the perspective of a working professional. Facebook is the absolute last thing you want to have if your plan is to have a long and successful career. Posting pictures of parties, drinking, having fun with girls or guys in bars, doing things that you probably should not be doing...you are just asking to get fired or not hired. The company I work for is well known in the country for "checking facebook" (which I think most companies now are big facebook checkers) and I have known of several employees that have been fired because of facebook. Two of them personal friends. It just is not worth it. Another reason why I don't do facebook, is because facebook has become the biggest magnet for virus' and personal information theft. Why throw all your personal information out there just for someone to steal it and ruin your credit, your name, etc. "Oh but they can't do anything if they aren't on your friends list". What if your friend is the one doing it? I think the biggest reason for me is ONCE ITS ON FACEBOOK THEY OWN IT. They own you and everything you put up there. Pictures, videos, information, EVERYTHING. Let's say Facebook goes out of business in 10 years. It probably won't but who knows. Say in 10 years they go ethically south and decide, "Oh shucks lets sell all the information we have on people and make a few hundred billion dollars doing it". What are you going to do then? If I want to talk to a friend I prefer a human interaction. Either go visit them or...ready for this...give them a call on a telephone. Oh! You youngins probably have never done this one...send them a letter in the mail! Facebook...no thanks.
