In pvp close is considered shotgun melee, and super territory Med distance is hazy tbh, but i usually judge it anything around the distance a double jump can reach. Or half-way across the map in some cases Long range, well i guess u can say is where u do notice recoil and targets are utsy bitsy spiders. There are damage drop offs with some guns at long range In pve it doesn't affect u much tbh, the slow pace allows u to do well with pretty much any gun and u always know where everything is
