Do you want Trading? Giant Poll
I tried to put up as many options as I could but the forums only allow 7 poll options. Comments are not required and I realize a lot of people don't comment so that's why I tried to make it as easy as possible to share your thoughts without commenting.
There are many options for trading, that's why there are many choices to choose from. A lot of the concerns that people have about trading can be erased with certain restrictions put on the trading system. This is trying to gauge how many really want/don't want trading and for what reasons.
Explanations:
Yes to trading, bind on equip only - Any items that you equip after receiving will be bound to your account and no longer trade able. This prevents friends from trading their level 32 gear and weapons to their level 20 friend so that he can run the raid and get his own gear. Any duplicate items that you find and would want to trade, there's no reason to equip them.
Yes to trading in fire team only - this would only allow you to trade gear to the people who were in your fire team when you received the gear. So after beating a raid, you can only trade items you received from that specific raid with the people that you beat that raid with.
Yes to trading same level items only - this is self explanatory. You can only trade exotics for exotics, legendaries for legendaries and so on. Whether only armor for armor and weapons for weapons is allowed is up for debate.
Yes to other/all trading openly - this is being able to trade openly between anybody with no restrictions, possibly including an auction house. Can also be chosen if you want a different form of trading, and will explain it in the comments.
No because of outside cash vendors - this problem I hear a lot is that people are worried about those "cash shops" (people) who farm items and try to sell the valuable items for real cash in an out-of-game deal.
No because we should earn our gear - this option is for the people who think that everybody should have the same chances at getting each piece of gear, without being able to trade any duplicate or unneeded gear with others.
No because of other reason - please explain your reason, this option can also be chosen if you just don't want trading in general for any reason.
EDIT: there's now enough votes to show a pretty good sample of what players want.

3 RepliesWhy not random trading? You post what you want to trade and what your looking for and the game shows you stuff others are offering for what you have. No names or any way to know who you trade with to avoid bitches who pay for shit

5 RepliesDumbass half the game is finding new weapons that's the whole reason people do raids and nightfall. If trading was available then they don't have to do anything at all. The game would suck more than it already does.

Trading with fireteam is better because you can't control RNG so if u get an icebreaker for the 5th time you can hand it to ur friend who got the Truth that he already got from PvP yesterday.

If its done in a way that takes our rmt's then sure. I've seen some great ideas such as a limit of 10min after a nightfall you can swap rewards or an anonymous auction that could be named the auction of the nine that's somewhat related to xur.

Yes trading should be allowed but..... You should not be able to trade raid weapons or armor, mats would be ok. I also think you should only be able to trade one item for a comparable item only as well. Example: someone has 3 Gally's and wants something else, they can trade it for a Universal Remote but not an Atheon's Epilogue.

Bind to equip is not exactly my orefered method, as sometimes people want to view items you trade, so equipping them makes sense, I would have a mark as trade means you can only trade them once marked you can freely move them back n forth between equipable and mark as trade but each time you mark as trade you reset all stats once trade is completed.

What about using xur as the trading system. He has something called xur's back stock where he has every exotic. You can trade one exotic every other week for any exotic other than raid ones. The gunsmith has raid guns that only raid guns can be traded for. The vanguard has raid armor only raid gear can be traded for. This eliminate outside money grubbers. Just an idea.

1 ReplyNo because of all the modded weapons And everybody high lvl would constantly getting msgs saying can I have this can I have that And i only have one friend (lvl) 26 with destiny so for me,not trying to be selfish,is pointless to me so I'd prefer to see Bungie fixing rather than adding stuff that would wreck the game

I don't want trading. Gear should be acquired by individual players. But we need a massive, massive overhaul to the garbage loot system that currently exists.

1 ReplyThe only thing I think you should trade are materials. You can trade glimmer or other materials for the material item you want. Gear shouldn't be able to be traded for. It will start a black market of people farming and selling for real money on 3rd party websites. It will screw the game up completely. Diablo 3 good example of why I quit playing it.

I thought that trading would be a good idea, but if you can trade gear, then for the people who don't have the tumbler they'd be at a serious disadvantage too those that have it. since I only have to pay 50 for but could sell it for more, so there would definitely have to be some restrictions.
