I am dyslexic so reading a good book takes me a bit longer than the average person. I love the sense of accomplishment I feel after finishing a substantial work.
What are some titles I should add my trophie case? The real big ones! Classics and major works.
Edits: see first line, proofreading isn't my forte.

Well, I can suggest the following: Fyodor Dostoevsky (the house of the dead, notes from underground ) , checkov, and Leo Tolstoy. I find Fyodor to be dark but speaks volumes of truth about humanity, it's beautiful. Checkov has a lighter sense. And Tolstoy has a descriptive ability, I'm currently reading the Raid by Tolstoy. I love how the authors make you stop, and really think and take in what you have read. I would suggest to read anything that makes you uncomfortable, a writer once said, and I can't remember who said it, sorry, but he said that we should read not as children to entertain ourselves, but to educate and make our brains think. I suggest also reading Jay McInerney's Bright lights, big city. It's a second person narrative, just something different and it is set in the 80's.
