Made the unfortunate mistake of picking up Destiny about a month after release. I thought I had given up FPS gaming because of old, slow reflexes. But I found out I love this game and can still be decent at it, and now find myself behind the curve a bit in terms of a regular running group and raiding. I don't like to waste others' time, so I have not raided significantly until I was well equipped to do so and spent the time learning all I could. I now have a 31 of each class and a vault full of equipment that offers flexibility. I have run VOG enough to have the normal mechanics down, but have found it frustrating in finding consistent groups that communicate well together. I want to keep getting better and raid 3-6+ times weekly, but it has been difficult to pull off so far, and I feel like we are plateauing. I had not intended to approach Cota until HM wad mastered on VoG. I normally run with by brother in law, and we both come from an MMORPG background. Outside of Halo, the EverQuest franchise and Project 1999 are about all we have played in the last 15 years. The MMO-like aspects of Destiny are what have kept us interested. I would love to find a clan that has a similar MMORPG background and has some good organization and communication in and out of game. I may be mistaken, but my experience so far seems to indicate most clans are very small and closely knit groups of 6-10, or very large groups that have little structure. Neither of those are inherently negative, but not sure either is a fit for us, either. Really looking for things like a raid sign up schedule and good forum communication to get the most out of our time. We want to keep learning more about how to play this game really, really well. And we'd love to help others achieve some of those in game goals that we can't do alone. Would love to do some more research and learn about your groups if anyone has had similar thoughts.
