When I say drugs, I mean illegal street drugs and legal prescription drugs. Also included would be tobacco and alcohol.
Also, if you believe drugs should be legal, do you think they should be taxed more than other goods?
Finally, do you think prescription drugs should be legal without a prescription?
Personally, I believe all drugs should be legal and taxed at the same level of other goods. Also, I believe that prescription drugs should not require a prescription.

Depends which drugs
-
Aren't there some drugs that kill you?
-
The Drug War has failed/is failing. I'm of the opinion that drugs should all be legal and addiction should be treated as a medical issue, not a crime. Addicts should be in rehab, not jail cells. And all the people in prison just for having a little weed? Come on.

I'm actually impressed by the results, not bad community.

I think weed should be legal. Mostly because alcohol can be just as bad, if not worse. Harder drugs like heroin, crack and crystal should still be illegal as they destroy lives. I'd be tempted to put coke, mkat and speed in the same category. They can be fun but they're also dangerous. I haven't tried LSD or shrooms but having smoked salvia occasionally when it was still legal id have to say keep hallucinogenics illegal. Even good trips can be dangerous. I had a guy almost jump out a 4th floor window once. Prescription drugs are complicated. Some id say yes, but only knowing what they cure and not what the side effects are I couldn't say for certain. Most of the commonly prescribed drugs that I know of are controlled for a reason.

Not all drugs. And for everyone that's worried about "driving under the influence", that's mostly crap... half the drugs out there, especially prescription opiates and amphetamines won't effect your driving at all.
-
Yes, because we need more people tripping acid while they're driving a vehicle.
-
I would say something closer to decriminalization where smoking a joint or taking a wack won't land you in jail, but getting behind the wheel in any condition outside of sober takes away any and all of your privileges.
-
People should be able to make there own decisions. If you want to shoot smack into your eyeball go ahead. It does not hurt me. Also I would love to go to walmart to pick up an 8ball.
-
Well some, defiantly not some things like krokodil

Edited by CoherentBadger: 1/6/2015 12:34:42 AMI have one simple reason things should remain as is. We don't need anymore people driving under the influence. We already have enought. If you legalize Crack, Coke, LSD, ect, I can almost guarantee there would be more deaths on the road. The punishment for using drugs should be a hefty fine not jail time though...
-
No. But it should be looked at and treated as the medical condition it is. Not a criminal one.
-
Making it illegal doesn't work
-
Im all for making all non directly medicinal medicine illegal, including tobacco and alcohol. Prescription medicine should also require a prescription.
