About the Grimoire.....

Why isn't the Grimiore in the game itself? One of the game's main complaints was about there being no story and nothing being explained. Truth is everyone and everything has a bit of info about it in the Grimoire. Heres a great example right here that you'd only find out by reading the grimiore.
They explained how Erin, the new vendor introduced in the Dark Below was part of a failed raid on the moon to kill Crota, of which she was the only survivor. They left out, how she got lost in the tunnels for years after losing her ghost and not only learned to use shadow power to survive before returning but continues to use it since then, and how everyone thinks shes crazy, and how Zavala(Titan Vanguard) and the Speaker think shes too far gone. And how she works for Ikora Rey(Warlock Vanguard) as part of a group of guardians who infiltrate enemy strongholds gaining intel and bringing it to the warlocks. You'd expect them to want to tell us something interesting like that about Erin considering shes the only character introduced in this expansion.
Why make us have to go to Bungie.Net or use an app to get to it when it could be right in front of us at the press of a button while were playing. If they're not going to tell us the story themselves and make us learn about it ourselves they might as well make it as easy as possible or convenient.

  • Wow, I haven't played it myself, but that is a story left out in the game.

  • It's called the "Second Screen Experience" It is implemented in not just games like Destiny and BF4, but many other forms of entertainment, such as Game of Thrones, Breaking Bad, and just about every other major television program. It is a form of marketing that is supposed to increase immersion.

I can't stop reading the grimiore cards. Bungie's story telling abilities never cease to amaze me. My only problem with the grimiore cards are that they arent actually in the friggin game. I only imagined one outcome if bungue had added all this left out story: I WOULD HAVE NO LIFE. There are rumors of the lead story director leaving prematurely, making the story lack tremendous substance. I don't know if it was poor planning on bungie or divine intervention but thank you bungie for making an almost great game because my social life couldn't take another hit like skyrim. Anyways...great sales pitch right here bungie: sell the grimiore cards in a novel and stick a copy of Destiny at the end of the book correctly labeled "Epilogue"...because this game feels like a brief after thought next to the grimiore cards.

  • Because reasons... duh! Honestly, its probably because they butchered the game and story at some point late in the development cycle.
