So the greatest idea I've hear In the forums yet is the ability to break down weapons and armor for their bonuses and receive them as "blueprints" of sorts. Once you receive the bonus "blueprints" you could than visit a vendor (like the gunsmith or armorer) and replace these perks for the existing perks on a weapon or piece of armor for a fee.
How awesome would that be! Our gear would be fully customizable, certain items would still be very sought after, and our overall experience would be greatly improved.
Imagine a pocket infinity with the last word and string of curses on it! The possibilities are literally endless!! :D
Bump if you agree, please comment below with combo ideas!
Edit 1: knowing Bungie though, if they did implement this, they would probably make it so you only got 1 perk and that perk was selected at random -_-
Edit 2: more than likely if they implemented this, like exotics they would only allow for 1 piece of customized gear at a time :P

Only if there were no exotic perks, in other words I could have Iron Banner armor 'cause it looks awesome, but I could tailor what kind of ammo cap bonuses and reload speed bonuses I want.
-
That's stupid as shit people would just put the best perks on one weapon or piece of armor
-
Ice breaker, wolf pack rounds, string of curses, red death, and lingering damage all at once 0_0
-
I'm afraid that would just create a super up weapon that everyone would use, which is exactly what bungie doesn't want.

Edited by Curious Finger: 12/11/2014 4:11:28 PMIt would never happen. What you can count on though is bungie making the game more of a grind. Also, I suspect that the next update is going to cut out the ability for players to share curencys between three characters. Get ready for that little gem.

It sounds awesome but exotic weapons shouldn't be touched for certain reasons.
-
LOL Warframe already did it.
-
Or, why not raid to 3?
-
On legendaries sure, but not with Exotics.
-
I would leave exotic perks out of it
-
This could be cool with Legendaries and lower. But not exotics. That would defeat the purpose of exotics.
-
-
Sounds like an adulterated version of upgrades I posted the 2nd week of this games life span.
-
I like the idea but it won't happen
-
Too much work for bungie. Will most likely be ignored.
-
You won't be able to take an exotic perk and put another exotic perk on an exotic that is retarded. That's like wanting a Suros regime with the string of curses perk and red death that's just stupid.
-
Not going to happen people. You will grind the way they want you to. End of story. Bungie and activision need to just turn the servers off. Redo the game with a recall. Or just mass refunds.

reforging sounds like a great idea for specific sights and suck on weapons like i would really love the red dot oes from my hushwind on my vanquisher but reforging allowing you to put the exotic perks from one weapon on another one that is just dumb that would eliminate the exotic weapons actually having unique qualities. i say totally yes to reforging but only for basic stuff like grenadier perfect balance or send it but definately a huge no for merging exotic perks if someone wants to buff the heck out of the weapon they are using in one form or another thats fine like allowing you to get send it on a weapon that already had persistence for example that would make it an excelent weapon at range but not broken because you can normally buy that anyway. or even like my friend plays sunsinger and he would die to have grenadier twice on the same weapon id be cool with that let him spam grenades as much as his little heart desires but like allowing people to reforge and put dot damage on a vanquisher or thorns dot damage on suros regime thats just stupid. i dont think this will be implemented anyway because just think of all of the stupidity that could come of it. a found verdict with the shot package perk and send it could kill you from ranges currently unheard of for a shotty. bungie debuffed shotty range and made these two perks mutually exclusive for that exact reason. people already bitch enough about weapons being overpowered the last thing we need is to give people an avenue to make the really powerful ones even stronger.

We placed this idea in the comments since the beginning. Reforging is very useful. But Bungie has a plan. They don't make games for your enjoyment.

Idk why some way to customize perks wasn’t in the game to start with. Id say the same thing about elemental damage, give me a base weapon with stats for impact range fire rate all that jazz, and then let me add perks and damage types. Same with armor, give me a slot or two and let me decide which weapon I want to reload with faster or carry more ammo for.
