I finally got this gun from Xur, (after trying to get this and hawkmoon to drop for me) and I love it. It is by far the most fun gun that I have used in this game. However, it really is lacking a little when it comes to being an exotic for PVE. I use as much as I can but when it comes to more difficult tasks I find myself switching to other weapons to get the job quicker and more efficiently. Don't get me worn, I've used this gun on the level 28 heroic daily and weekly's but it takes way longer because the range is so damn horrible. I can use my Lord High Fixer and even Thorn to snipe guys at a distance and still do a ton of critical damage that you just can't do with TLW. Is it possible to complete these high level strikes/missions etc, sure, but it takes longer and the gun feels lack luster in the exotic department for this. Honestly, I think the 8 rounds are fine, 10 would be nice for high level stuff but I can live with 8. Or, maybe if they kept 8 rounds they could increase the impact for more damage. Or give me more total rounds than 8.
Either way the range needs a mega buff for this to be a viable option for high level missions/strikes/raid. I understand that if you are hip firing the range could be low like it is, and I'm fine with that but when I am aiming down sights why does this hand cannon, (being an exotic) have zero range. For higher level material people will pick TDYK, LHF, fatebringer, or hawkmoon just about every time. Like I said, I love TLW but I do think they really need to buff the range when aiming down sights in PVE. It reminds me of when I was playing Diablo 3 and would get the perfect piece of gear but there was one stat that kept it from being epic, (blizzard helped correct this later). Make this gun feel exotic if it's gonna take up a slot.
What do you guys think? Also, again, this buff would only be for PVE, not PVP.

Only buff the mag. The rest is fine.

Really needs a bump in range. Even the new sidearm has longer range. Almost double.
-
I agree the ammo increase would be nice but really all it needs is a range increase
-
While I certainly wouldn't complain about a slight ammo increase... I feel that when using chain of woe and/or armor reload buffs, the weapon is MORE than adequate for PVE use. It's my go to primary for my gunslinger and only changes if I need to use the Icebreaker.

It's a precision weapon, but at closer ranges. With the last word, especially in pve, you need to be able to pull off those precision shots. And quick. I love running it while doing bounties. It's really fun.

i think the last word needs a range and mag buff

Edited by Vengeful Cow25: 2/17/2015 7:13:46 PMThe guns stats are fine just the way they are, that's why they didn't change anything in the exotic buffs. The only thing that should be changed, is the magazine size from 8 to something like 11 or 12., which would make this gun actually usable in some higher level strikes, and raids that it is currently useless in. I also don't really like how bungie made some exotics exotics good for only PvE or PvP. They should really all be more like the Suros, meaning that they are good for really anything.

I'm with you. I can't use it at all in PVE. There's just so many better options. It's range will get you killed really quick on Nightfalls. Hawkmoon is practically a sniper. They can stand to make the range a little better I think.

No it's fine this way.

Yesssss definitely add some range to this weapon at least just when aiming down the sights. I also love this gun and would hate to stop using it just because the range is so poor.
