The earth moves and the rock is on the earth so why do people say they dont move?
-
All things move even the... Darkness...
-
The ones in Death Valley do.
-
Ya if u throw it XD
-
On a molecular level, sure.
-
That's Satan's science.
-
So when I'm lying lazily in the sofa, I'm not really lazy, because I'm still moving!
*hugs monkey*
-
It's all perspective. They don't appear to move, because they're moving about as fast as we are in relation to the earth most times.

It has heat. It vibrates in place.
-
Lava is liquid rock, and it moves all over the place.

Edited by The Cellar Door: 11/16/2014 12:53:58 AMYes. Now to go into this in the nerdiest way I can possibly think of: Everything in the universe is expanding from eachother. Yes that even includes us, our bodies and our cells and our atoms, their subatomic particles, the quarks that make them up, and the gluons that make them up. It's not nearly noticeable because of the rate of expansion, and because of our dip in space time caused by our mass. (Gravity) however in about 1.2 trillion years, if nothing affects the rate of expansion of space, space will have expanded so much that not even the strong nuclear force will be able to hold protons and neutrons together, and at that time no atoms will be able to form and the universe will essentially be at it's minimal usable energy state. It's called the big freeze, it is the culmination of expansion, and entropy, and that's been your random fact of the day from the cellar.

Does a move rock?
no. It's stressful and takes a while to settle in.
Relative to the Earth, they don't move much. Except for the sailing stones, boy do those things fly!
-
Because they are stupid
-
it does when a Minotaur throws it!
-
Yes. When I'm playing basketball and I pass the rock
-
Yes they do, pioneers used to ride those babies for miles
-
Because the rock is Earth.
-
Yes, sertan rocks in some areas move a few millimeters per year

It is implied that the statement includes "of their own accord".
