Ok so as soon as I beat the story about 3 weeks ago and received the Stranger's Rifle, I saw 3 things. Rare. Level 16. Scout Rifle. I thought it was a weak present for completing the story and dismantled it but I see some saying it's a solid choice for PvP. Can someone explain/clarify this please?

Its a pulse rifle, max damage 215, but does have full auto-fire. It is actually very usable in PvP, but ultimately it will feel under powered. Its a good weapon to stick in your vault and give to a new character you create when they hit level 16 as it will be more powerful than any other level 16 weapon.

It carried me the rest of the way from 16 to 20, so yes. It's pretty good.

I see people say alot of things. It really comes down to your choice. Do you want a lvl 16 fully auto pulse rifle, then its a good choice. For me since its lvl 16 fully auto pusle rifle I put it into storage in case I forget how bad the story was and decide to level another character.

Isn't it a pulse rifle? Seems ok when you first earn it, but I think the damage maxes out below 215 (don't quote me on that, as I haven't touched it for a while)

I've seen quite a few people use it to good effect in the Crucible. I've not used it myself, so I've moved your thread to #Destiny so you can have better discussion. #Help is more so for help of a technical nature with Bungie.net and Destiny :)
