Headshot Damage Scaling in the Crucible

One of the things I've noticed during my time playing in the Crucible so far is that it favours weapons like the Auto Rifle, Fusion Rifle and Shotgun, and there's one very good reason for it - accuracy in Destiny's PvP doesn't mean a whole lot. Unlike other FPS games (or even Destiny's player versus environment content), there's very little reason to aim for the head in the Crucible. I've messed around with the Scout Rifle, Pulse Rifle and Hand Cannon in the Crucible and in a head-on fight with other players these weapons just tend to be weaker. With their lower fire rate, these weapons are all about accuracy - but the critical damage from headshots is so low that even if you knock out headshot after headshot, if your opponent is firing a stable enough auto rifle into your chest, they are going to drop you first. This is a dramatic difference from the rest of the game, where you tend to want to aim for weak points on the enemy (usually the head), and where accuracy is really important. You're really disincentivized in the crucible from using any sort of accurate weapon. Of course, it's still entirely possible to play well with accurate weapons. The pulse rifle is probably the strongest, as a decent pulse rifle with a decent refire rate can KO a player in two or three quick bursts to the head. But scout rifles and hand cannons tend to just be too slow and methodical, with their damage and impact not scaling well enough from headshots to make them entirely useful. My take on the primary/secondary/heavy weapon slots is this: primary are meant to be a reliable, all-round weapon, secondary are meant to be for special cases; and heavy weapons are for when you want to do a lot of damage fast. Sniper rifles, shotguns and fusion rifles fill the 'special case' slot as shotguns are for close quarters, sniper rifles are for long range, and fusion rifles are for short to mid range. All of these weapons are fantastic in the crucible when they are in their element - though most crucible matches have small enclosed spaces that make the shotgun a strong companion in every crucible match. But right now, I feel that most of the primary weapons fail to be capable all-round weapons in the crucible. Because headshots do not seem to scale particularly well right now, the slower fire rate of the higher accuracy weapons makes them feel heavy, clunky and hard to wield particularly well under most circumstances. A good auto rifle with high stability seems to consistently outclass the other weapon types - and this seems to be reflected in the fact that most players in the crucible tend to use auto rifles for that reason. I am uncertain of how things need to change (just increasing headshot damage does also benefit the auto rifle, and it makes the already easy to kill Guardians that much quicker and easier to kill), but I do feel that Pulse Rifles, Scout Rifles and Hand Cannons need to be looked at for some changes in the Crucible!
