Sunsingers assemble.

Hello fellow sunsinger, as the game has progressed it is clear, warlocks are somewhat the minority with sunsinger at the bottom. I personally enjoy the class a lot. I find it to be very powerful. What do you think of the class so far? Any helpful advice to the others who enjoy the class as well?

  • I've maxed both subclasses & have to admit, I love the sunsinger. It is fantastic for PvE & has saved my group from a whipe on several occasions.

    I love Sunsinger and just recently maxed it out. For PvE it is absolutely incredible. Solar, fusion, and firebolt grenades are all useful in different scenarios. One-on-one, fusion grenades paired with radiance and a high discipline stat does damage that is utterly ridiculous, especially when you're throwing grenades every 1.5-2.0 seconds. However, knowing when to use your super is key, because while it is on cool down, you do not have access to the BEST PvE skill, which is self-resurrection. No matter how careful a group is, accidents happen. When that accident happens when the boss is at 20% health, it sucks, but not when you can revive yourself and give your team a new chance. Just recently have I just started using it in PvP and i find it better and more enjoyable than void walker, or at least more versatile. Going on a sticky 'nade rampage while in radiance is very fun, especially when you stick 3 or 4 during one super. It takes more skill to use effectively than voidwalker, definitely, but I think it is better once you learn the dos and don'ts. The best grenade is definitely the fusion grenade (firebolt is second) just because it is a OHK every time (except when the other player is heavily shielded). It does about 269 damage give-or-take when you stick someone, so it does have the capacity to eat away [i]some[/i] shielding. The best part is, it is [u]not[/u] like a plasma grenade in halo. You don't have to be nearly as accurate. Once it is within a 2-4 feet radius it homes in on the enemy and is very lulworthy. And I almost forgot to mention the special melee attack sunsinger's have access to. Without radiance, it is a slightly more powerful melee that does sun damage, but with radiance, it is an instant kill on any vehicle, and of course for PvP, even with significant shielding. Along with the warlock's melee range, running strength is definitely viable. This was just a condensed oversimplification of the class, but I hope it will help others decide if they want to roll a Sunsinger. I've maxed sunsinger and voidwalker and have tried all combinations of skills. My PvP for sunsinger is: 1. Fusion Grenade 2. Focused Burst/Balanced Glide (preference) 3. Radiant Skin 4. Flame Shield 5. Arcane Wisdom 6. Radiant Will 7. Chaos Order 8. Gift of the Sun/Angel of Light (preference) I am free to answer any questions you may have about the class and will do my best to respond in a sufficient manner. Oh and...     • I switched to Sunsinger right at level 15, and really missed the nova bomb thingy. Everything else was ok or better but I just missed that huge damage to insta kill a wave or put a huge hurt on a boss. But the best feeling in the world is running solo into a room where 5 guys from other team are trying to capture my flag. I throw out a grenade and then die. The revive and get off about 5 more solar grenades. The whole room burns and they don't know where to go. I may die twice but I can single handedly team wipe them and stop a capture. I have maybe another hour in game time before I max voidwalker and then I'm definitely going back to Sunsinger. The only advantage is Nova Bomb, while sunsinger has a handful of abilities and stuff that make it better.

    • has anyone mathed the mechanics for the class yet? I'm wondering if radiance 'maxes' your cool down and melee to a specific value, or if it actually modifies existing values. for example, if you have armor and abilities dropping the cooldown of your grenade will your grenades spam even faster in radiance than someone not speced that way? is it additive? multiplicitive? by abilities does it just mean useable abilities or does it pump your armor, agility and recovery too? what about weapon abilities, for instance the explosive round, does it get a boost during radiance?

    • i love the class with our soer grenade we can hold enimes off our rez is insane when we use it and who dosen't like rezing in pvp and punching the guy who nail us, also we melt bosses with our spam of holy fire Praise the sun

      Praise the sun? -blam!- YEAH I LIKE YOU Today I just ran to pick 2 team mates who died and when I got killed reviving I was like "OH WAIT, IM JESUS" came back revived them both and proceeded to kick pve ass. It's also fun in pvp, but when you get golden gun'd twice in a row, it leaves a bad taste in your mouth, Still love it.

      • I like it in pvp when the other team is camped in a room and pop my super and just throw all dem grenades in there and wipe the entire team.

      • The hover skill destroys people in pvp, they never expect you to go around a corner and cling to the ceiling like a spider.

        • I am a biotic god! Can't have fun playing the other classes anymore... maxed sunsinger with the exotic invection shotgun. Advice: use the solar grenade, stack the touch of flame and viking funeral perks on it; you'll be cleaning up control matches with 20+ kills every time

          • Sunsinger is amazing since solar grenades heal your allies (not you) during radiance. That and the clutch ability of fireborn during nightfall is just beautiful.

              The grenade does not heal or grant a hot. Most likely the glowing sun made the enemies retreat giving your teammate room for healing his shield by his own. Tested it with different spec and with and without radiance active:)

                • Sunsinger is simply beastly with Fusion 'nades and Radiance against Strike bosses. Not to mention the fact that I typically get about five kills (mostly Firebolt Grenades) per Super in Crucible games, compared to one or two kills per Nova Bomb... Praise the Sun! ;-)
