Hey there, I'm a massive cum dumpster who will call you sexist if you don't hire me, tee hee! My personal life is not your responsibility, and I know that many employers don't even offer health insurance, but you absolutely must pay for me to get pounded by al the guys in the office!
Yeah, no.
-
Holy strawman Batman.
-
I was explaining why the employer shouldn't have to pay for it, by using what is an incredibly likely scenario. You seem to think that I have misrepresented your idea that the employer should have to pay for it, when in reality, I only sought to voice why they should not.
-
Keep in mind that the situation being referred to in this post is only about contraceptives that are considered abortive in nature, rather than preventative. Normal birth control is still covered.
-
Should employers pay for your groceries too?
-
They do?
-
They give you a wage/salary and you buy what you want.
-
That's what I was alluding too. In lieu of paying the employee more to buy their own from who they want, they cover part of the costs.
-
Why can the employee not buy it with their current wage/salary?
-
Myriad of reasons. Ineffecient care, greedy management, too many lawsuits over "malpractice," a nation that is mostly overweight/obese.
-
What does an obese nation have to do with birth control?
-
You asked why employees just don't pay for their own health insurance and the answer to that is that it generally just costs too much money for people to be able to afford it on their own. Insurance costs too much because health care costs too much. With a dash of corporate greed and inefficiency. Health care costs as much as it does for a number of reasons, some of which I already listed. There are more. Obesity is there because there are several diseases that have to be treated, and paid for, which are related to obesity. And America is fat.
-
No I didn't I asked why someone can't pay $20 dollars a month for their own birth control.
-
Is it $20 a month?
-
Depends how often you're having sex.
-
You don't take a pill every time you do the nasty.
-
I was covering condoms too.
-
I wasn't under the impression that condoms were covered by any medical plan.
-
I am now aware
-
For the longest time I wasn't aware that birth control was actively prescribed to treat extreme period symptoms.
-
Are aspirins covered?
-
Because some believe it is immoral.
-
Edited by M37h3w3: 9/3/2014 4:07:30 PMI believe it is immoral not to help your employees.
-
Let's say they want get body piercings. Should that also be covered?
-
Edited by M37h3w3: 9/3/2014 8:36:42 PMLet me, before we start this, edit my previous statement, narrowing it down to matters of personal health and well being. Body piercings are elective and cosmetic. So no. They shouldn't be covered.
