At pax the devs said it would be "too hard" to implement...

They just said it was difficult back in the halo days when the team was small. It was said that it wouldn't be necessarily easy. This all came up when they were discussing their background and halo ce.

Yeah. But they were pretty adamant on not implementing prox voice. Whether it's because they are a bigger company now, or spread so thin despite that. I have a hard time believing that it's that difficult to implement. Take the fireteam chat code, and modify it so that instead of the main argument being if they're in a fireteam, make it if the player is within x distance. If you make it so that you could toggle between friends chat and prox chat, then it's even easier. Maybe a sequel will have the option. It's only a minor annoyance anyways, but it was still a copout. Just say that you didn't have the time and that it could either be a patch or in a sequel if people keep asking for it. That would make everyone happy.

Yeah Luffy. It could be done and it should be done. I just want them to confirm it right now and tell us why they haven't already come out about it earlier. If they don't have prox voice I want to know why.

:) Yeah, they should make an official statement, but I think that all we'll get is the unofficial hints from pax. If you watch the stream on YouTube, as soon as he says "halo 2 prox chat was easy" the other guy interrupts him and said that it would be pretty hard to implement it now.(at least I think that's how it went) they mentioned several times that it would be difficult to implement. Which unfortunately sounds like they're never gonna put it in. I think they were a little too psyched to see how a lot of us were using points and waves to substitute real communication.

I want to communicate though :( Do you watch OP?

Looks like we'll be playing a lot of charades. I don't watch it, but I read the comics. For about 6 years now I think
