Fix my internet speed! Not exactly possible for some of us who have prime ministers (presidents) who are complete morons and think that the internet is just a trend. (Tony Abbot)

I'm in Perth, we have nbn 3.2mbps no dramas
-
I live right next to a suburb with NBN. I am so pissed that most of Australia still has below third world internet speed because of king abbot.
-
Yeah, I'm in Perth and been waiting for the NBN to be built in my area for years then the plan got axed. Houses 2 street down from me has NBN built in before that.

3.2 is double what I get in my part of the UK, I'm 'supposed' to get fibre in my area come December but even then it's FTTC not FTTP. Frankly 15 down and 3.5 up is not possible where I live, and the ping is closer to 100ms I'll still be the one leading your team in the crucible though ;)

WTF man! Id start a revolution if my internet was that bad in 2014

Freedom of world communication and information is worth a Revolution. Here in the states we are loosing our rights left and right but we have great Internet.
-
I am surprised someone hasn't already done. Although the current government can't go to many places any more without running into protesters.
-
3.2? that's terrible
-
No, its UNACCEPTABLE! Even the Moon has better internet speeds
-
Yeah it's ridiculous the people in charge here in Australia are all -blam!-ed in the head
-
I apologize my friend. All my Aussie friends suffer the same issues of slow speed, dropped connections, and NAT errors Theres quite a large amount of Aussies in my clan if youre interested in fellow gamers

You have to pay heaps to get faster. The base nbn is 1/12mbps but 40/100mbps is too much I reckon. During the beta I had no lag on my ps4 with fibre connection.
-
But yes we are well behind the rest of the world
-
Wait, I have 5/20mbps plan but can only download 3.2? Is that normal?
-
Are you using Wi-Fi? because that makes a difference.
-
Nah, strait out of the modem.
-
If your ISP advertises its speeds as "up to" its normal. They can charge you for lets say 20mb but only be able to deliver half that speed. Thats why i dumped my old ISP a few years ago, they were charging me for a 24mb package but could only supply between 8 and 10 at any given time and this got worse during peak hours. The ISP i have now guarantees 200mbs totally uncongested fibre and thats what i get. When choosing an ISP always read the small print in the advertising..

Thanks mate

Thanks, that is useful. I did not know that some ISP NBN has that low speed. My ADSL 2+ has 14 Mbps shown on my PS 4 connection test but of course it goes down hill during peak but my house is located quite some distance from the exchange. However, comparing the $119.95 p/m price I'm paying for my ADSL plan with an NBN plan of $99.95 p/m, the NBN plan has an extra 200GB and speeds of 100/40 MBPS. It hurts that I'm paying so much for ADSL 2+ plan and my street does not have NBN when 2 streets down in the same suburb has NBN. Australia were also slow to pick up 4G too.
