My thinking is that they still want there to be a few surprises. We've all grown used to having information shoved down our throats that we're not used to them being quiet about something.

I agree bro. Bungie gave us a little information on everything. A little on raids, patrol, PvP, etc. Proximity chat really isn't important to Bungie b/c if u saw any of the videos they constantly said Destiny is a game meant to play with your friends.

Then why bother their time and money making a pseudo - mmo system where we mingle with other gamers.. that aren't my friends...

You don't have to mingle. You can stray off the beaten path and follow your own destiny. Stop looking at Bungie and the creation. Look at the game and its story ans it probably might make some sense
