A "Christian" once [b]spat[/b] on me while I was walking down Rundle Mall(shopping district in my city) on a Friday night, completely unprovoked, while they were holding a "Being Gay in a Sin" sign and the other people with them hurled insults at everyone while holding various other signs. I was spat on, but no yeah your question is totally valid, they never do anything to offend others at all.

Ignorance/Pride/Intolerance.... the same reasons why there is any hate for religion and ultimately the same three reasons we have such major problems/conflicts today in the world. Christians are not immune to these issues either. It's something all of us suffer from, even those who believe themselves to be intelligent and well educated.

What do you think would happen when you try to bring religion into a subject that has nothing to do with it. I highly doubt someone started hating on them out of the blue but rather I'm gonna go out on a limb and say someone posted a thread excluding everyone else but others who share their same beliefs. So to be perfectly honest they kinda brought it on themselves.

1 ReplyFor the same reasons that people pick on other religious or social groups, because the most exposure the majority of people get to those groups is from the radicals. Those who act irrationally in the name of something that they don't truly represent, for they barely understand it. For instance, if the majority of what a person has seen of religious groups has been the Westboro Baptist Church, they're not likely to have a positive outlook on religion as a whole.
