Also on the top of the map, is a place called "reef" and kinda looks like a pyramid

That would be the home of the Awoken. We don't know a whole bunch about it but it's not DLC.

Also seems to be some sort of cosmic debris field either over earth or in the asteroid belt, no confirmation for either location, just speculation thrown around the forums based on video clips. It appears that it will act as kind of a tertiary Tower-like location with Guardian interactions and weapons dealers and faction reps and the like.
