Did these ammo refills work in the crucible? I just thought of that.
I purchased a bunch of special ammo boxes to smash through the Devil's Lair with (because snipers are insanely OP against certain bosses if you have an infinite ammo source), but I never tried to use them in PvP.

This is the most annoying thing about the crucable. Bungie should remove the ammo packs from PVP completely and take some lessons from other companies like Naughty Dog, where you have to build up and scavenge ressources each match from scratch. To be spammed and massacred by Machine Gun in the first 10 seconds of a match is just plain stupid, cheap and easymode. I leave the match if someone is using those packs. It completely makes the timed heavy ammo spawn irrelevant since you have to have ammo packs with you, if you want to survive in such cases. Those who have time to farm glimmer to waste it on the ammo packs for PVP have a clear unfair advantage.

yes they did. I got SOOOO much hate mail cause I would use the heavy weapon ammo refill at the start and people thought I was cheating. I did put in some feedback to Bungie after the Beta and one thing I brought up was the use of the heavy weapon ammo refills in crucible potentially being a problem.

Wow good find then that must have been a blast hahaha.

I think the requirement says you must be in combat. It probably doesn't work in PvP otherwise everyone and their mother would go into matches with fully loaded rocket-launchers.

you have to wait for to load into the Crucible match and you can access your inventory to use the ammo refill; you can't use it before you enter the Crucible queue. takes a couple seconds to do, but it gives you an edge at the start that I believed to be unfair.
