I've always hated the Call of Duty community. It's full of Hackers, 7 year-old kids talking smack, and a lot of frustration. When I talked to them about their thoughts on Destiny, a lot said they would play it. Not to generalize the community as a whole, but I don't want my Destiny Crucible experience to be like a normal CoD BOII or Ghosts session. Anyone else feel the same?

I am worried about Destiny fanboys ruining Destiny
-
The COD people will just jump ship soon for the next installment anyways, so not much they will do.
-
What defines a cod player? Considering nearly every person on earth has played call of duty at some point... Destiny is very different from cod and CAN NOT be played the same. Anyone who plays destiny is a destiny player not a cod player.
-
No, I don't feel the same. Then again, I tend not to generalise whole communities with blanket stereotypes.
-
Dude, I'm 23 and lived through the whole CoD franchise. I feel your pain. I think we should rise up against them by having way too much fun. Wanna play with me sometime on the game? My gt is thekidt9

i feel, like your a troll from the moon, and hope your crucible is full of what you dont want :)

Edited by CheckForAPulse: 8/23/2014 3:55:38 AMEveryone seems to have this sense of elitism in regards to CoD, as if they are "better" than the CoD community by hating them. Though, by reading most comments on this thread you guys have proven to be just as childish as the community which you so dearly hate. Hating CoD doesn't make you part of some exclusive club, don't feel more special, or any more mature for jumping on the bandwagon. I never liked halo or its community all that much, that said I don't feel the need to openly bash them in an attempt to massage my sense of elitism.

Edited by Barbatos: 8/22/2014 4:39:45 PMMy only experience with COD is Ghost's campaign and got bored after 20 minutes, not interested in the multiplayer. So, I can't say anything about that community. However, as someone who has played BF3 since last year (left behind that franchise), I hope I don't encounter the rotten apples from that community. The point is any franchise or genre is going to have decent people and assholes and I don't won't to have to deal with the latter while playing this game.
-
Yes I feel the same. Luckily this is Bungie and we all know how dedicated they are.
-
No once cod aw comes out they will quickly leave destiny.
-
-
Ehh not a problem for me ill jus destroy them in every match till they quit playing the game
-
Once Advanced Titan Pilots comes out, they will go to that.
-
Edited by ChadPook: 8/22/2014 2:07:31 PMI played all the halos and half the cods. Also, I played a ton of mmos. Those people/kids are everywhere. It's life.
-
I love CoD but if people start camping here with a damn lmg in a corner thats going to be so sad because thats just pussy shit and if you want that go back to CoD, I seen people ruin Titanfall because of that shit.
-
Love the name! Is that Star Trek next gen?

Edited by Exalted Evil: 8/22/2014 9:28:51 AMPlayed COD since COD 2, COD 4 was the pinnacle of FPS perfection, that being said, all other CODs are trashy, no skill, corner camp till you get the streak you want, noob friendly garbage. I wouldn't worry about those players, without the persistent auto aim that cod offers they will not be on destiny for long.
-
The fact that the game doesn't have private lobbies or any of those typical competitive amenities has already staved off a lot of the KDR whores out there, so I think we'll be relatively free from their bullshit. There will be the occasional complainers but they won't have as much of a voice here since it's been firmly established that Destiny isn't that kind of game.
-
Well hackers suck but Bungie does a pretty good job at helping prevent some of the annoyance of trolls. Like you don't have to take time to mite everyone before every crucible match you are spread out pretty far in explore and can just go into orbit if someone is really trolling you. It won't be a problem I don't think.
-
If they are CoD fanboys wont theu be playing CoD...?
-
I just hope Bungie does something with all these hackers from cod, like if one person gets reported for hacking like 20 times then they will ban him for a few days. Your thoughts
-
No, calm down. If you don't like someone, mute the.
-
Destiny has no proximity chat for PvE, no game chat outside your directly formed or joined fireteam in PvP, no Match making in Raids, and again no voice chat anywhere outside the fire team. How will CoD players ruin Destiny exactly?
-
COD players don't like the Halo type shooters, it's foreign to them. Bungie was pretty good at detecting mod's and laggers in Halo so I would imagine there will be a mechanism in The Crucible!
-
They'll be too busy playing Call of duty: titanfall jet pack jumpers.
-
Na the new CoD will come out and they'll all slink back to that, this has an actual story mode and a campaign that takes some work to get good weapons not just MP, most of those guys won't have the attention span for this game.
