Yes it does seem lack luster. All PvE modes modes all play about the same so gets very monotonous for game play. Then Bungie excluded about 80% of its player base from end game content (The Raid) so the whole purpose of continuing after the story seems pointless. I have to assume the majority of players, since they don't have end game content to shoot for, will stop playing Destiny after the story and maybe remove it from consideration for future gameplay. I certainly wouldn't consider buying expansion modules at this point. Will have to see how this one plays out. Very curious to read the comments around here by November.

 • Wow so you get to play the same 15 strike mission over and over again? All the loot you collect and Vanguard gear is for nothing? I mean that is the focus of the game after the story is done. Get loot. But for nothing?

 • How to enjoy destiny as a casual gamer... 1: lvl up 2: finish the campaign 3: grind strikes for gear 4: if you care for raids join a raiding clan and put some effort into it

 • It will be laughable if this ship goes down faster than the Titanic. I thoroughly enjoyed the beta and hope the the game will be fun, but my initial impressions are that Bungie missed the boat, at least as far as what I am looking or in "Social" game. But maybe they are giving the masses exactly what they want and that will make them a lot of money, and if that's the case, than good for them, they should be doing everything they can to make lots of money...I will just need to find a fun game somewhere else.

 • 80% of the players were excluded from raid content to begin with. It's designed to push the most extreme players to their limits, giving them to start over multiple times and works as one cohesive unit. No way that'll happen with a group of random allies.

 • Right so it leaves 80% of the players with nothing really interesting to do after the story is done at level 20. Game is about collecting loot at the point. Loot for what? Starting to sound more and more like Warframe each reply I read.

 • For PvP, for the nightfall missions, for the higher level strike missions. Halo had LASO mode, yet 90% of payers never attempted it. Why? Because casual gamers (I.e. the 80% ostracized by Bungie) don't want, not have the time, to sit down for a 3-6 hour mission. It may wield amazing rewards, but if only 10% has it, you may never see them except in strategy guides/wiki pages.

 • I think your jumping the gun a little, destiny is one of those games where when you complete the story your just begining to get the cool stuff. Games now are starting to be that way devs think thats how you get the most replay value out of their games. Theres going to be but loads of strikes and raids maybe not at launch but everyonebwill be itching for new stuff, not to mention u can replay the stroy missions as well.

 • Right, replay the same stuff over and over and get cool stuff for what? 80-90% of the player base are excluded from the raids just by their design. That is the general consensus as to how a raid works for Destiny. So what do players need all the cool stuff for? Boring and very repetitive strike missions with lame boss mechanics? Just to shot the dang things for 15 minutes at a shot. So Destiny seems likely it will be very boring and repetitive gameplay for nothing in return for most that will buy the game. That is what I was experiencing in the alpha and beta after finishing the story. Getting all that nice armor and guns and nothing to do with it.

 • I hear your points and you make sense, the reason destiny appeals to me because its my Next gen borderlands. Although this game cant top borderlands in my opinion its close. It seems destiny is not your xup of tee but remember this is now the standard for games finish the story then do all remaining activities and buy dlc.

 • Don't forget, you've played against 2 of the 5(or more) enemy races in this game.
