Hear me out, no pun intended!
I do agree on a chat system but not voice chat game will get loud and annoying quick. Though I do have the 360 keyboard and I love it would finally have a game I can use it with!
I like the idea of open tower only and if you are in the open world, be it mission or explore. I think if you wave at another player and they wave back it should open up text chat between them as well and then from there you can decide to team up and voice chat.
And for those who don't have a keyboard and can't and don't want to buy one they could just work a function into this companion app they keep bragging about that lets you use for your text chat.
Just my opinion though, what do you think?

4 RepliesI think in the tower, chat requests would be best. I mean I'd like it to be off LB and RB to interact but after that, you should be able to request to talk or create a conversation. I chat it'd just be you two, conversations you could add others, but when you leave the tower you leave it completely. In the field and crucible, fireteams should be able to chat obviously, but there should also be proximity chat. And there should be some sort of fireteam preparing board or area so you can get on a team of like-qualitied players.
