I like this game a lot but the PVP

Is not balanced or skill based. Don't sit here and fanboy and try to explain or make excuses as to why you believe it is any competent player can tell it isn't. Constructive feed back: 1. Supers have no place in the mp and are the biggest problem, disable them. There is no way to tell when a player is super charged or not. If there were a very clear aesthetic when there super was ready that other players could be aware of it would be somewhat fair but even then for the warlock and myself included, Titan it's just mash bumpers to win. Maybe a gold halo or sparkles around the player when their super is ready? 2. The sniper rifle damage needs to be lowered roughly 20-30% auto aim needs a severe reduction. I was doming head shots with the Gozen with no effort after 3 games. Head shot damage should remain the same. 3. Reduce auto rifle damage 5-10% buff pulse rifle damage at least 20% and reduce recoil slightly. 4. Vehicles for the most part are incredibly broken. Either a sniper takes them out of the vehicle or a super must come up. At the beginning of the game vehicles reign supreme please add heavy weapon ammo at the start of games on vehicle based maps, it would have such a positive impact on gameplay. 5. Net code seems to be intentionally noob friendly, at close quarters it is near impossible not to trade. Often I melee the person shot gunning me and they die as well. Don't even get me started about meleeing each other, it is almost guaranteed that both players die. Kill delays on many things such as snipers can be up to 3 seconds.. I have never seen this in a game before, ever. It's ridiculous. I do however love the map designs, although moon is over vehicle saturated. The movement mechanics and aiming in this game are some of the best in any FPS I have ever touched hands down. Edit: For good players please message me if you are interested in joining a competitive scene of players I have started a group called Got Gear looking to raid and be the premiere first raiding guild in Destiny. I used to lead 10 and 25 man WoW raids. If this game does somehow turn around it's MP we are looking to compete in tourneys as well.

We got the non-competitive gametype most likely.

    • Some good points. I do agree that the pulse rifle is weak when compared to the other weapons. The vehicles on the MP map are over powered and can even get into some buildings making the capture objectives difficult to get to without one yourself. They should force a dismount if a player wishes to capture a point or a building. The Titan super power is to powerful and needs to be balanced. Melee I agree with you on this one. As someone who has played quite a bit of Dust 514 I can say the pvp is in Destiny is weak when compared to that game. The maps are to small as well. Plus there is no real reason to do pvp in Destiny. There are no resources a player or clan can capture and hold and it bears no significance to the pve side of the game either. When I take part in pvp I like to have an objective other than a cosmetic thing of capture the flag to earn points. I like to see my pvp actions bear a real resemblance to the whole game world like Eve Online where players can own whole swathes of space. Maybe I am old school and just dislike battle arenas. The PvE side of the game though is very nice and I like the storyline I have seen so far.

      • 1. You can usually tell when a player has a super if you and your teammates are capping B and you see a guy coming up alone, then he is probably about to use his super. 2. Sniper Rifles are meant to be a 2 shot kill that's how it was in Halo. 3. Auto Rifles have a high recoil so they aren't that useful long range so of course they should destroy anyone close. I agree with the pulse though that gun sucks. 4. I somewhat agree but I'm not sure on how to fix them. 5. Completely agree on this! But I'm sure they can fix it.

        • 1. You know everyone has a super, yet you don't play cautious. That's on you. 2. Two body shots to kill is classic, the damage is fine. The firing rate between shots however is another story. 3. I don't agree with your numbers, but the pulse rifle does need help. 4. There are so many ways to deal with vehicles in this game it's not funny. Here's a hint, beginning of the game ignore your team's vehicles, head to the central dome, wait for the enemy vehicles to go by then pop out and shoot the drivers out. No one does this, or expects this. Too easy 5. No, the netcode is just bad in general. What the hell kind of description for net code is "noob friendly" ?

Guns are op cause they kill me supers are op because they kill me this game is op because my idiotic brain can't handle it and I explode. Does anyone else think that was a good impression of him.

              • There is actually a way to know if the enemy has a super. Their level by their name pulses yellow when the super meter is charged.

                1. Having a way to tell if someone had a super would actually be nice, but I don't think needed. Mid to late game I just assume anyone I meet has a super saved up and proceed with caution. 2. Snipers also have a large tell, you can see a glowing red dot a mile away, of course when you do notice it it may already be too late, but with a coordinated team I found that snipers are not that cheap, perhaps it's just our experience from fighting snipers in Halo. 3. I wrote what I feel about the Auto Rifle and Pulse Rifle in a thread of it's own, I'll quote it. I also include how I feel about the Hand Cannon and Scout Rifle
I'll start with the Auto Rifle. It serves its purpose up close and I understand why it would be such a monster in that range, sometimes even a more viable option than the shotgun in the right shooters hands. This gun should excel in that range, however this gun is also very excellent mid range making the Pulse Rifle a less viable option. I don't know if the Auto Rifle needs a tiny nerf or if the Pulse Rifle should get a buff. I feel towards the latter as the the Auto Rifle should still be the preferred weapon when getting close, but the Pulse Rifle struggles to find a home. If I were to nerf the Auto Rifle I would nerf the headshot damage as it is very easy to land multiple headshot in a quick succession. I don't use Hand Cannons, but from what I see they could use a boost as the Scout Rifle beats it right now. I do not think we should boost the basic damage of the Hand Cannon, but instead boost the damage of headshots from the Hand Cannon to reward those with good accuracy. It'll entice people to still use Scout Rifles as they would be more practical in longer ranges. A good shot with a hand cannon can win mid range battles if they place their shots rights.
4. That is smart idea, but I also notice people have yet to fully make use of the turrets on the map. They destroy vehicles. Same with Fusion Rifles. 5. I feel that it's personal lag that affects gameplay. I was lagging horribly one game while my friends in my party said they felt no lag. It was really apparent I got killed by an unseen Interceptor only for it to appear a second later. I left the game, unplugged my modem, and meet up with my party after their game was finished. The next game I was running much smoother.

                • Why not #Feedback? Bungie needs to see suggestions like these. I agree with alot of your points, but I still enjoy the multiplayer. I think the whole PvP system is refreshing to see in a FPS; but maybe im just complacent.

So far I enjoy the pvp in Destiny I don't think its all that bad, I can agree the Auto Rifles more so need a reduction to range and maybe fire rate at low levels rather than damage but that's just my opinion. I don't mind the supers, they aren't terribly hard to predict, and I cant count all the times Fist of Havoc has got me out of a tight spot in most games, I do feel the warlock and Titan supers need a slight reduction to their effective range, I mean I've got some pretty insane kills with Fist of Havoc that almost didn't make any sense from where I hit the ground and where my target was standing and Nova bomb blast radius is just crazy. I really don't mind snipers and I haven't really noticed aim assist at all in this game unlike most people have mentioned (not saying its not there, Its just not noticeable for me). as for the vehicles bit I most of the time make it a priority to keep a good distance away from them and take the driver out with my scout rifle, I'm not the best shot but I'm getting there! All in all I say this game has a few things to work out in multiplayer but for the most part it seems fine.

                • My only problem is the de-sync issues at the moment :P you think that they would have made sure that everyone is where they are supposed to be for competitive modes :P most of the reasons I'll die is due to me dying while behind cover (there is always balancing to be done in multiplayer like this)
It's not my internet either :P
I agree 100% with everything about your post but just one thing. . . . You like the map design. I think it is not really that great either. Sadly the PvP plays too much like a broken COD online multiplayer. And that is saying a lot since in my opinion (and once again it is just my opinion) I find the COD multiplayer cheap, broken, and not enjoyable one bit. Destiny does not feel at all like the company that made Halo multiplayer. But I will say the game is a lot of fun in Co Op play with friends.

                  • Burst rifles aren't accurate either compared to the Auto Rifles. I personally love using the Burst Rifles because of nostalgia from the Battle Rifle in Halo 2 and 3, and I feel like I have more control of my shots rather than spraying and praying. However, the Auto Rifles, I already went 3 games with just the Auto Rifle giving me about 10-15 kills before I died once. The Burst Rifles, I'm lucky if I get 2 kills before dying.

                    • Although I don't agree with you on much you do make good points. I don't think anything needs any buffs or nerfs yet, think we need to see the full game before we can start talking about that. There will always be some guns that are better than others. I do think some kind of indicator of when people are fully charged is a good Idea. Some kind of gold aura around them or something.

                      • The only major problems I have are the supers and the delay. Titan it's just mash bumpers to win, %100 true. but warlocks have big bomb explosions. I'd say the Hunter's super is the most skill based (you have to aim). Titans are avoidable by jumping, and Warlock and hunter can fail with faulty aim. Without the delay, many lives can be saved.

                      • Let us count up the ways you can one shot someone. -3 supers power -sniper rifles -rocket launchers -vehicles though some are not one shots but might as well be -throwing knife to the head -3 melee specials -shotgun I am sure I am missing some. This is more of an observation than a complaint. I am sure we will figure out how to best play to your strength and avoid as much as you can, but on theses small maps it is one shot city.
