I like this game a lot but the PVP

Is not balanced or skill based. Don't sit here and fanboy and try to explain or make excuses as to why you believe it is any competent player can tell it isn't. Constructive feed back: 1. Supers have no place in the mp and are the biggest problem, disable them. There is no way to tell when a player is super charged or not. If there were a very clear aesthetic when there super was ready that other players could be aware of it would be somewhat fair but even then for the warlock and myself included, Titan it's just mash bumpers to win. Maybe a gold halo or sparkles around the player when their super is ready? 2. The sniper rifle damage needs to be lowered roughly 20-30% auto aim needs a severe reduction. I was doming head shots with the Gozen with no effort after 3 games. Head shot damage should remain the same. 3. Reduce auto rifle damage 5-10% buff pulse rifle damage at least 20% and reduce recoil slightly. 4. Vehicles for the most part are incredibly broken. Either a sniper takes them out of the vehicle or a super must come up. At the beginning of the game vehicles reign supreme please add heavy weapon ammo at the start of games on vehicle based maps, it would have such a positive impact on gameplay. 5. Net code seems to be intentionally noob friendly, at close quarters it is near impossible not to trade. Often I melee the person shot gunning me and they die as well. Don't even get me started about meleeing each other, it is almost guaranteed that both players die. Kill delays on many things such as snipers can be up to 3 seconds.. I have never seen this in a game before, ever. It's ridiculous. I do however love the map designs, although moon is over vehicle saturated. The movement mechanics and aiming in this game are some of the best in any FPS I have ever touched hands down. Edit: For good players please message me if you are interested in joining a competitive scene of players I have started a group called Got Gear looking to raid and be the premiere first raiding guild in Destiny. I used to lead 10 and 25 man WoW raids. If this game does somehow turn around it's MP we are looking to compete in tourneys as well.

  • I think that all your suggestions make it too easy. If you did all that then it would be extremely harder to kill people. Also the part about showing when someone has the potential to super, what next show everyone's defense armor stats so you can do the math? This is a competition. If you're doing bad then practice.

            • Kill delays are a big problem and I've killed people with a melee kill 3 to 4 seconds after I'd been killed

              The main thing that makes me not want to play the PvP is the kill delay. Just a little bit ago I shot someone in the face with a shotgun, turned around assuming he would have died, realized he didn't, then as I was turning back around got punched by him and died. Then, after I was already dead, and I just saw my ghost, a message popped up saying "kill, headshot", so he died probably around a total of 4-5 seconds after I shot him. Things like this happen all the time, but this was just the worst one that just happened to me.

                • I agree that the sniper needs to be nerfed and a lot of the other weapons (excluding the auto rifle) need to have higher damage.

                  • I'm sorry, but you are wrong to begin with. The game is definitely skill-based. No skill and you lose bad. Consistently. When I first started the PvP, I sucked bad, really bad, and would have likely agreed on all your points. But then I kept playing, learning the ins and outs, learning how to move around and dodge and use all my weapons at my disposal, changing back and forth (not only between primary and secondary, but also the guns in those slots within matches) to adapt to the situation. Now, I am almost consistently first on my team. The Moon map gives me problems at times, yes, but mainly from the size, and getting caught off guard by the vehicles (they are too quiet). Yes, there are some balance issues. The auto rifle is a tad (ONLY a tad) too strong, and the pulse rifle and hand cannons could use buffs. Snipers are fine, At close range I very rarely get killed by one--shot, yes, but not killed (it's called moving around). The vehicles need a bit more weakness, but only a slight bit. The turrets take them out quickly, a good sniper is even better. At the beginning, everyone has access to the same vehicles, so it comes down to the more skillful drivers. The main thing that should be changed is taking away the ability to cap points while on a vehicle, that's where most of their imbalance lies. Still, I like your suggestion about heavy ammo at the start, as it could help a great deal. The net code problem is definitely serious, I will agree, though at the same time I will say that it has made me laugh and woot just as much as it has frustrated me, so I can honestly go either way with lag kills and trades (would prefer them gone). Finally, your point about the supers. No. Just no. That is literally the most unique aspect of the game. Are they OP? Yes. Does everyone have access to them? As long as you've reached level 4, yes. They are essentially guaranteed kill-streaks, and they are all balanced with one another. You have to adapt to the possibility of being destroyed by one, end of story. It's part of the game design, plain and simple. I am not great at the game. I am honestly surprised I am doing so well. I have played some FPSs for a while now, but this has been the most fun. The problem is that most people try to play this like other FPS games, and it doesn't work. The game is different, and it calls for different strategies. Adapting is the most basic skill you need to foster. With some slight fixes, the balance of the PvP will be phenomenal, and that's part of the whole reason for this beta. Heck, Bungie already tweeted that they have ideas for balancing vehicles better. Most everything else balance wise (other than how bad pulse rifles are) comes down to skill.

                    • The only thing I would like is for there to be more balance in grenades and suppers. I am a titan and my grenades only do damage and don’t kill on explosion. I had people ride beside it or in front in, even on top on my grenades when they go off, and nothing happens they are left pretty weak, yet I been killed full life with the grenades of other classes. Then my supper I believe titans are the only ones who cant aim it. It launches you to the front and to hit people below you have to unlock the ability first. In a sense its not fair because it should launch you where you are aiming not where your body is facing , I just fell because of it.

                      • I can easily agree to supers being removed. The range on SC is ridiculous for Warlocks. Secondly, I'm assuming this is P2P and not dedicated servers; so more than likely the multiplayer experience is determined by a single host per match. If the host is bad; then so is your experience. I've had games where there were players teleporting and delayed damage dealt. ( Sometimes damage was not even registering AT ALL. I have a video to prove these statements as well.

                        • My only hope is that Bungie doesn't take away from the Earth and Moon, and hopefully, other campaign missions and concentrate on the Crucible MP. It just feels like the MP was a tack-on deal and the game would have been just fine without it. I know the so-called "competitive" players wanted it, but seriously, 12 people jumping around a map like rabbits on meth isn't for me. I'll keep trying it to see where the vehicles are, but what I really love are the earth missions and bosses that spawn while you're exporing. Cheers

                          Complaining about one Super being better than the others is dumb. They all have trade-offs: Titan: Fists of Fury is effectively an AoE melee enemies can gun you down before you get close enough to use, so you have to utilize cover to position yourself close enough to use it. When you do use it your basically guaranteed not to miss unless allies gun them down or you used too way early, which is bad because you only have 1 chance with it. Warlock: Nova Bomb is a ranged AoE so you have to aim it and can miss, but you can use it from a safe distance. It is also single use. Hunter: The Golden Gun is a ranged single target Super that gives you 3 shots with a gun that basically insta-kills people (the only time it has not one shotted me was when I was using Fists of Fury with the Unstoppable passive at the same time). Has the highest chance for you to miss (especially since you get this nice golden aura around you advertising that your about to blow them apart) and waste it, but you can use it from far away and unlike the other 2 you get 3 tries though there is a timer on it. An important factor is the expected number of kills you can get from a single use of the Super. Titans and Warlocks have the potential to wipe out a team of 6, but are more likely to get 1 maybe 2 people lest they waste time holding onto it and potentially miss out on another one. While the Hunter can only get a maximum of 3 people and the expected number of kills is based on the players skill. A bad player will probably manage to get 1 kill while an experienced player is likely to get all 3 kills every single time which will net them a much higher average than Titans and Warlocks. I actually think they should take away the Hunter's golden aura when using Golden Gun to make Hunter's more noob friendly. Instead of reducing auto-aim for all guns just reduce it for Sniper Rifles, and nerfing auto-rifles should "buff" all the other guns. Net Code feels barely simpler than it was in the Halo games and by 3 seconds I hope you meant 3 miliseconds. If your killing someone with a sniper rifle and 3 seconds later die from getting shot by that guy it's because your lagging. I completely agree about the vehicles they're f*cking broke. The amount of normal weapon damage that being in a vehicle blocks needs to be significantly reduced or add in hijacking (please :D).

                            I'll be completely honest I have no clue why people think the Titan of Warlocks super is OP by any sense. Compared to the versatility of the Hunters super they just seem to meh in PvP. I also have no clue why people think the Hunters super takes "skill", literally you aim and shoot and they die lol. Unless your a god awful shot, and even then for some reason the super's shot seems to be almost insanely generous, like you graze them and their dead, or you hit the ground next to their feet, their dead. Sorry but the only downside to the Hunters super is it doesn't grant invincibility, and really that's a small price to pay considering it's effective at all ranges where the titans only works in CQC and it's pretty easy to kill the Warlock during his jumping wind up animation. Outside of that, the Interceptor is kinda absurdly good. The pike is fine. And to be honest I find the way supers just build over time a bit scruby/shades of TitanFall's casual approach at giving anyone a free kill it two lol. I'm okay if they just gradually build up over time in PvE but PvP, uh no lol.

                            • I think that the the auto rifle either needs to be slightly nerfed or the other weapons need to be buffed. the auto rifle will screw anyone over. you can kinda avoid it by jumping but you can't counter attack because weapons get to inaccurate in the air The supers are fun but the golden gun can not really compete with the AOE effects of the Titan and warlock. Yes, you can eventually unlock a slight AOE effect for the golden gun but its silly that you have to work to unlock it when the other classes automatically have that. The vehicles are OP and I keep forgetting I can't bored them, but I've just started getting into a turret at the beginning of the match. Heavy ammo drop at the beginning would be nice tho. All around I was just kinda hoping for a different PvP experience but it just feels like another twitch shooter. Something more tactical Would have been nice. I get they wanted to promote team work with a territories/KotH game type but it just feels like another run and gun so don't really think it worked. I also don't like those kinds of game types but that's just personal preference. I'll just wait for the full release to decide if I want to participate it the multiplayer. I really do wanna like it, but I just don't right now. Story wise it's super fun so there's that.

                              • 1. Supers ARE part of it and DO have a place. See a Titan just kamikaze-ing at you? You better get your butt in the air to avoid him or run far away. See a Warlock floating at you? Do the same thing. Hunters need to proc Golden Gun because if they try to use it on you mid-fight, they'll die. Everybody eventually can use a super during the match, so I don't see how it is unbalanced or broken. 2. Not sure about the sniper damage as I don't use them, but I agree with everything else. 3. Auto rifle stability and range should be nerfed into the ground. Somebody with an auto rifle shouldn't be able to laser me down from a ridiculous distance on first light. 4. I agree, nothing to add. 5. Some funky things have happened but that's why there's a beta; for stress testing and netcode testing.

                                • The MP was great to me. I was top 3 in the first few matches I played. It all feels very similar compared to the single player damage with slightly higher level enemies. All the weapons feel good. Haven't tried the burst because I don't even like them in the single player. The only thing I will say is that there needs to be more XP for captures and less for kills. Also there needs to be instructional videos to let people know how zones work. Apparently, they can't quite figure it out. Aside from the players REFUSING to capture zones together, it was a blast.

                                  • Also on top of all that I agree with I must say the radar on PvP to me kills the MP experience as well. Why there is a constant ping is besides me and how people actually defend this is crazy to me

                                    • I think pvp is fine how it is. You just sound like someone getting mad from being hit with supers. Also if you nerf one gun but buff others than there's a pretty good chance the nerfed on will be nerfed to much. The best comment ive read about pvp topics was they're a lot of people talking about making the rich richer and its true x j the supers help the less skilled/lucky people actually get something in. I think they should have at least one mode in yhe crucible with no supers just so ppl stop saying this. This isn't call of duty, this isn't battlefield, supers are in and they distinguish classes from one another, just get used to it already.

                                    • Just to the thing about the pvp being unbalanced and bad. I disagree. I have always hated pvp. The only game I ever liked pvp in was gta v. This games pvp is good. The moon vehicles are fine, (however I think we should be able to hijack). You probably just never get to the vehicles quick enough and are a sore loser. Grenades do quite a bit of damage against vehicles. I do agree with pr buff but I also think scout rifle needs a small buff too. Or ar needs a nerf. As far as melee, melee is supposed to be a one hit kill for the anyone so yeah if you and a player hit each other at the same time you will both die. I've never liked pvp because I care more about story and single player. I've always loved coop but pvp is not my thing. Never big on CoD. I wouod get like one maybe two kills on BF. But in this game I'm usually one of the top players. Bungie is trying something different. It actually a lot like halo. You just need to learn the different system. And as far as supers, they're fun. Just keep you distance from titans.
