inspired by this fellow redditor I wanted to create this thread also here in the official forums. I feel like Destiny (as brilliant as it already is) could use some major improvements in the "social sector" Especially when it comes to Strikes and the Crucible I think a public VOIP (with option to deactivate) would be helping a lot. Coming from playing Battlefield 4 I really like the Squad VOIP chat there. You get thrown in a group of 5 people and if you want you can verbally align on tactics, call out enemy movement and positioning. Even if it's just one guy that you communicate with, its still great fun. Yes i can make fireteams with my friends but why make it so complicated to communicate with random people? Imagine you are a lone wolf (like me) and want to have a good time in one of the strikes. The game puts you in a group with random people. Of course you want to play the highest difficulty the dungeon can offer, which would be no problem if you'd be able to talk to the mates in your party about tactics and what to focus on at any given time. BUT you are not able to talk to them unless you re-invite them into a fireteam. This is making things just more complicated for no reason. Having no chat, not even in the tower, makes the ads about Destiny calling it a "social experience" a bit of a joke. [b]TL;DR:[/b] Things the social part of the game could use - Strike group VOIP by default for randomly joined teams [ option to deactivate in game settings | mute players in group ] - Same for Crucible matches [ 6 people is ok for a public voicechat ] - (low prio) 1-1 chat with random people. R3 interaction - more emotes (equipable?)
