The leveling is the only thing that bothers me about this game. It is just so linear. It would have been nice to be given a choice of 4 subclasses to choose from per Titan class. But you only get to pick 2 subclasses. For the hunter you would get a stealth, sniper, demolitions, and ranger type subclasses. For the Warlock, you can have a Solar, Void, Arc, and another type of subclasses For the Titan, you have the Striker, Defender, Melee and Assault type sub classes. Each subclass has its own special attack/action.. That would have allowed for some serious diversity to the guardians.

 • what exactly would be in these extra classes you added? it may cripple the balance that has been set between hunters, warlocks, and titans as they are now, each can be independent but synergize well when placed together in order to cover the 3 types of elements. don't quote me on this but destiny seems to have a huge emphasis on the number 3 maybe there will actually be 3 subclasses in the full game? adding weapon specific bonuses to classes would move the game more towards battlefield which i personally definitely don't want. also, keep in mind that this is not strict mmo or strict fps its a balance between the two. it seems like you're trying to push it more into one of the extremes

 • For one I am not designing this game. I just said I was disappointed that the progression is just linear. Why even call them subclasses when I can't pick them. But I can pick the class. I have noticed the emphasis on three. Maybe they could have had just three subclasses based on the elements used in game. Solar, Arc, and Void. Where you get to choose two of the three elements for your guardian. But then your subclass gives you additional abilities like for the hunter, where void gives you the invisibility and stealth abilities. arc gives you the electrical abilities of blade dancer. Solar allows you to power up your golden gun. But for a warlock you would have different abilities. it's super is more void based as is. So the void subclass allows for you to progress your super. the solar allows for you to use the radiance ability. And arc the explosive ability. Maybe for the titan, the arc subclass for the super and so on.

 • i see what you're saying kind of i think they kinda made their class progression similar to a game called vindictus by nexon after your main class for your guardian is trained enough and reaches a certain level you have the option to choose a "subclass" that is still very unique to your guardian only. i still don't know about the whole 3rd subclass thing being implemented but I'm leaning more toward thinking that they wont do it. maybe in the distant future but if they gave each guardian every element it would take away the need to party with other element specific characters(depending on the specialties of each class)?-i know hunter's blade dancer class is arc dmg, has cloaking, and is mainly to take out difficult opponents 1v1 while titan has elements of crowd control. just a thought, not sure how elaborate this post is, I'm still half asleep. sorry if im rambling thanks for clearing that up though. the class trees to me now seem a little bit blander xD i realize there is no skill points (ap/sp) and there is no individual progression of each skill.

 • Yes, adding more sub classes would certainly help. And the leveling is very linear and basic at this point, correct. Skeptically hopeful
