A Short Story For Bungie Day about My Guardian

(Note: I'm not a very good writer. And I am not very good at this sort of thing. But I thought for Bungie Day I would make a short story about my Guardian. I may add to it more but it's unlikely. Anyway, on with the entertainment I guess.) I woke with a start and checked my chest. There was no hole there, but there really should have been. You do not get speared in the chest by the tooth of a Longfang and NOT have one. But I was alive. Or was I? But the world looked... different. This was not the land I once knew. Where were the gaping forests? The many and Varied game? All I could see was dust and metal, stretching up to the sky, yet it seemed broken and old. "The Hunting Plains of the Life Beyond are not as described." I thought to myself. Only the did I look up and saw - I backed off. Some sort of metal ball, a Sky Demon floating in the air! I went for my spear - no spear. Was my knife okay? I looked to my belt and there it was, the one thing that followed me into this world. The lore of my Tribe said the metal it was forged from fell from the sky and never rusts. It was presented to me by the greatest hunter of the tribe when I surpassed him. I lunged at the Sky Demon, knife in hand. It dodged to to the left. Without thought, I threw the knife into the other hand and stabbed it. The blade bounced off, and the Demon spoke! "I knew I revived you for a reason. Very feisty. That may have even hurt had I not activated my force shield." I spoke to the Sky Demon. "What are you, demon? What manner of monster are you that floats in the air and is made of unknown metal?" The Demon sighed. "Why do I get stuck with the annoying ones? Since you can't hurt me with your knife, you had best sit down and listen. We have a LOT to go through." I knew i could not fight the demon and it was not trying to kill me, so I agreed. It told a tale of how I died, and of how many years have passed since then. The Tribes came together, they fought, and eventually went to the stars. Yes, the same stars that glittered in the forest on moonless nights. And then they found something. Something that changed everything. A Giant Sky Ball. They called it The Traveler. And it made them advance. They made a empire that went beyond the heavens. But it was not to last. A Great Darkness came. It ruined humanity and slew The Traveler. But before it died it made Ghosts, like the one before me. And it told them to seek out those who could use it's power. Apparently, I could. "So I am nothing more then a corpse to be used to you then?" I said. "No, not at all. Think of it as a new chance at life." "But my Tribe. My family. All are gone. And you will not let me join them in the Hunting Plains? You will not let me die?" "I'm sorry, but I don't have much of a choice. We NEED people more then ever." "I will always hate you for this." "...I know. But you are needed." I got up. "Fine. If you will not let me die, we had best go to this city of yours. How will we do that?" "I parked a ship nearby. All we have to do is-" A shrill scream made my blood go cold. it was a sound I had never heard before but I knew what it meant. What it always meant. It was the call of a hunter animal, and it meant you will die. I looked about. On the hill I saw- "Impossible! That is a Demon Of Flesh! We have legends of those!" The Ghost blurted out in terror "YOU HAVE LEGENDS OF THE HIVE? HOW?" "Not important. The Demon Of Flesh must DIE!" I charged at the Demon as it lunged towards me. Knife in hand I stabbed the demon full on in the head, but it kept going. I pulled out the Knife and stabbed it in the head once more. It tried to bite me but I moved out of the way. It stopped moving aside from the odd death twitch. "And to think I thought YOU were the demon." "We should head to the ship. Quickly. More will be on their way." The Ghost said. We went over the ridge of the hill to witness something amazing. The "Ship" was unlike anything I had ever seen before. All metal and glowing lights. And it hovered in the sky like the Ghost! I sat down on the chair, which was the comfiest thing I had ever sat on. It was unlike the stone bench at home. "I have set it to autopilot to take us to the Last City. There we will train you. Though that COULD take a while. So, to pass the time, what do you mean by your tribe having a legend about The Hive?" I spoke. "Once, long ago, we had a different hunting ground. Full of many fruit and meat. But from the sky a ship of flesh came the size of two Longfang. It landed, and out of it came 12 Demons of Flesh: monsters with decaying skins that turned bad all they touched. A scout party was sent. None returned. Another was sent, and only one returned. And then he reported there were 30 Demons of Flesh. We knew what that meant. And so the Elder decided that the entire plains and all those who had witnessed the Demons, including the scout, would be burned in fire. The plains were set ablaze, and the screams of the demons and the stench of rotten meat lingered for days. Thus was the end of The Demons of Flesh." The Ghost was silent for quite some time. Then he said "A scout ship then. No doubt it was examining the planet for signs of life. You have no idea what you did for humanity that day. If even one of those Hive had escaped to tell the tale... there would be no Humanity today. Thank you." It went to the flight place and spoke once more "We are almost at the Last City. You will want to see this." I looked out of the clear metal and saw: Towers reaching into the sky. Metal ships bigger then this flying everywhere. And the sun setting over a giant sphere in the sky. "Humanity made all this? "They made so much more too. This is all we have left." "You do your Guardians bad. This is magnificent." "...Yes, I guess it is."

Very impressive :D I wrote something as well but is a little more general and shorter. I made a longer version but for some reason I prefer this one: Brael Aberion was a human born from a middle class family on earth during the last years of the golden age. With time he became one of the renown scholars that studied the Traveler. Then the Darkness came. As threats of destruction arrived from all over the solar system, Brael quickly enlisted himself in the newly formed army created to retaliate against the forces of darkness, ready to use the power that he had amassed during his years of studying the Traveler. His first mission was set on one of the moons of Saturn, where he and another 500 soldiers were traveling via a titan class ship called "Reckoning". They were tasked with stopping a Fallen invasion, but a mysterious malfunction on the engine, left them stranded on one of Saturn's rings where they were boarded and slaughtered by Fallen forces. Only Brael survived. For 3 years held his own against his enemies in the pitch black corridors of the enormous ship, fighting the need to commit suicide and reunite with his long gone comrades until one day he managed to highjack one of their ships, but not before being badly injured. He died shortly after finally returning to Earth. That is... until his Ghost found him. Now, with new found life and purpose, Brael is decided to take revenge on the Fallen and all the forces of Darkness, take back what they stole from humanity and become legend. As a new Guardian, Brael admires his new comrades, specially the Titans, whom he holds in high regard as he identifies with their struggle defending the wall. Although his own deeds are not as well known by his pears, rumor has it that the Fallen are still searching for the Warlock that killed so many of their own in the darkness of an abandoned ship hundreds of years ago. This mysterious and deadly figure is known by them as "The Void Walker"
