  • BxR isn't that absurd. Still would be a good try to add because the BR isn't what it suppose to be. But hopefully the maps that are thought of "remakes" might include Lockout, best halo map ever BTW.

  • Well good to hear you guys are working on stuff. I dont care about the new map prices, the only people who do are little kids or people who steal all their music offline. I dont care a lot about truskill, probably because i have never ad any real issues with it, although I'm not really all that good at halo if you go by k/d ratio (I'm 35 in lone wolves though).. I have heard there are problems with the sniper, but I probably just suck with the sniper too, its definitely harder to use now in halo 3. One of the few complaints I have at all still is the melee. Its garbage, and i hope you guys are going to make it like it was in halo 2 again. I dont care if I supposedly was getting robbed on my melees left and right,I never knew it so I was fine with how it worked, because most of the time I was able to predict if i could kill someone with a melee or not. I cant do that anymore So please stop rewarding slowness,I think a lot of us would appreciate it. The only other thing I have had an issue with is the condescending treatment of a lot of fans by Bungie lately. I realise that there are always the idiots who dont read any other posts or check weekly updates or anything at all, but those of us who do probably would like to be treated like intelligent people with something legitimate to add to the converstion. I dont know how many time a fan posted a great argument about melee with videos, and got told it was garbage because of silly, trivial little reasons,(by a bungie employee) while the rest of us knew right away how it had proved its point. And as far as the whole adult thing bungie, I hope you guys dont ever do anything again like you did with the recon. You treated us like small children, when you could have told us employees only the first day. I know there will always be cheaters, but most of us are not, so dont treat us like we are all cheaters. Anyhow, here's to a much improved game.

  • Wow this just goes to show how much more freedom Bungie has now that they're not owned by Microsoft; actually SAYING "Mario Kart"! I guess now they don't have to worry about Bill Gates seeing it, then dropping into Bungie offices to beat the offender unconcious with a sack full of gold bars.

  • The gun-lowering animation is worth the testing. or you could just make a machinima mode only. just get it in the game...you allow it in system link...things in the game are abused everywhere. I have never heard of the gun lowering button being abused. you just sound like you don't care at all or want to put the effort into something that IS very important to a BIG part of the community that has made Halo what it is.   • I really don't see how you can abuse lowering your gun considering in halo 2 the only way you could lower your gun was if you ran out of grenades, holding down the left trigger. Frankie seriously think about this, that was the only way to lower your gun in H2, if it were the same way in H3 what abuse could possibly come out of it. Absolutely none whatsoever. I've been a fan of the Halo series for a long time, and I make machinima. To see what I just read, I can only say that's the saddest explanation to keep a good thing out of a game, that helped us (those that make machinima) make the best machinima we can. Please re-discuss this with the crew there and re-consider excluding the ability to hold the gun down in custom games. The forum members over at Halogrid are rolling with anger over this reasoning. If it were possible to have it in just custom games we'd be happy, somehow you managed to allow it in lan or system to system linked games, why not just allow it in customs but exclude it from matchmaking. I know it's possible and it can be done, so there's no way you can tell me it simply can't be done.

That doesn't compute.[/quote] distribution is through xbox live market place. that means they controll everything. if bungi had sole control over price they would have to distribute it as a disc sold in stores and stay away from xbox marketplace altogether. that would be more money for physical replications and the maps would be released in larger chunkc, further apart from each other.

  • I think I discovered the solution to the melee problem and other complaints without having to apply any updates. Some of my friends tested this with me the other night and it seems to make everything flow much better. In fact it has a very similar feel to it that Halo 2 had. Basically for the last little while we have been trying to put our finger on what it is that just doesn't feel right about Halo 3. We all decided to jump into some Halo 2. None of us had played any Halo 2 since the Halo 3 launch. What we immediately noticed is that Halo 2 plays at a more frantic pace. That might sound bad to anyone who has only played Halo 3 but it really is the way this game is meant to be played. In fact, if you set the player movement speed to 125% it feels like Halo 2. Even the melee feels like it is a more skilled move and no longer FEELS like it is a dice roll. In fact, I was doing jumping, 180 degree turn beat downs like I would in halo 2. Something I found to be missing from Halo 3. Not only that, I found that it is easier to evade nades and sniper fire. Again, this might sound like it makes the game harder...but that's because it means there is more strategy. I finally realized that the speed has been throttled back but the weapons still fire and nades still toss and explode at the same speed. I don't know if this is intentional for reasons of engine performance or if it is to make the game more accessible to less skilled players, but I think there needs to be a playlist that plays at 125% for the Halo 2 long time fans. I hope it wasn't slowed down for the accessibility reason as this seems to be the growing trend in video games. Anyways, that's my two cents. The only warning I give you is that if you play a few matches at 125% its going to feel like you are walking through molasses when you put it back. If anyone wants to see what I mean about the Halo 3 vs Halo 2 speed. Play a Halo 3 match, then pop in your Halo 2 and play one there. Halo 2 just feels right, and Halo 3 can as well if Bungie takes my advice. Halo 3 has huge potential, but there are a few issues that need to be resolved to make it have the lasting appeal of Halo 2. Halo 3 didn't even make the list. Gears of War did though. Remember back when the game was released, there were hundreds of thousands sometimes even over a million players playing Halo 3? Every month that number will most likely go down. All my friends on Live were playing Halo 3, now its CoD4, Guitar Hero, GoW, Assassins Creed, and sometimes even Halo 2. I don't know how you guys at Bungie and most of the people here can play Halo 3 and see a big improvement from Halo 2. I know there was a lot of pressure to make Halo 3 better then Halo 2, but I honestly think you failed (at this point). I was a huge fan of both halo's. And I waited in line for hours for halo 3 at release. I drank Mountain Dew to keep me awake and pumped hours into that game, I wanted that game to be awesome. Now...I want this game to flop. I'm glad it didn't make the top 10. I'm glad the number of people is getting lower. call me when this game gets good... I wont be surprised if you blacklist me AGAIN...
