•
Posted by: King Leopold789
Posted by: Knux NY those are directed at a sub set of genres, not based on ones -blam!- orientation. One deals with likes and dislikes for activities, while the other focuses on a certain aspect of another human person.... -blam!- people are already allowed to go to all of the conventions, all this does is reinforce the differences between people. Forget your -blam!-, he is black, and he is white and lets all just be humans... this applies to this
Well no, We also have Bliz-con (A con for the, like, 3 games Blizzard has released) Quake-Con (A con for ID and Bethesda games) Mine-con (A con dedicated to a single, unreleased, Java game) That Call of Duty con Rooster teeth Exp Penny Arcade Expo You can make a Convention just for straight people if you really wanted to, I honestly don't see the problem here at all. Saying otherwise would be oppression.
focusing on the differences between people only brings us apart. By creating any thing that would alienate another group of people based on something they cannot change only makes us dwell more on the differences in humanity instead of what we share in common. This drives us to separation and further distinction based on said differences, which only gets in the way of co-operation. your dwelling on something that does not matter and draws lines between people instead we should be destroying those lines. cons for straights already exists, as do ones for -blam!-s; they are called e3, pax, gamescon, eurogamer, etc
And yet, we don't see the flood complaining that the Cub-Scouts don't allow homosmexuals or girls. And yet we don't see the flood complaining that the girl-scouts don't allow M2F Transgenders (People who identify as female) or males. And yet we don't see the flood complaining that there are schools out there that don't allow boys (All-girls schools) And yet we don't see the flood complaining that people can't join the yacht club because they don't own a yacht. This is perfectly normal, and nobody is dwelling on anything. Its just an event for people with common interests (You know, the whole point of a con in the first place). The sooner people accept and DEAL with it, the sooner people can be unified. Edit: PAX East and all those other cons you listed (Except for E3, because that isn't a con) aren't cons for only straight people, nice try though. [Edited on 08.07.2012 5:38 PM PDT]
