You know the way some movies, just look, well off?
Ok, say for example you watch the first 30 seconds of the Avengers, you know it's a full blown movie, it looks [i]proper[/i] not due to what's on screen or the actors or whatever, but it just looks proper. Now lets take another random B-movie when you watch one of those, instantly you can tell that it's low budget, not because of setting music etc, you just know?
Why is this? Is it camera angles? Lighting? I will be directing a short indie film soon and I would really like some feedback on it but first I need to know the secret to making a movie not [i]feel[/i] low budget.

You might be referring to the frame-rate. Most big-budget films are shot at 24 FPS - a practice probably derived to save money on film. Other films are shot at a higher frame-rate - these look crisper in their imagery, and some say less cinematic and more fake looking.

2 Repliesi think it would be to do with the camera lenses, visual effects to polish it off and the frame rate, im not an expert on cinematography since im only a photographer but thats my guess
