Posted by: Krimson Relik This is a great thing and I will be getting one. I'm also sure that every one you can make will be sold. However, I believe that Bungie could have thought a little more ahead and made these things bigger. Think about it. What does everyone say the first time you tell them about the helmet? "Can I wear it?" "No, it's only big enought for a cats head." "Awww...that would have been cool if you could wear it." Now had Bungie made these helmets big enough for people to wear, PLUS put mics in the helmet, you would have people all over the world sitting on their couches wearing Spartan helmets while playing Halo 3. Instead they will sit on a bookshelf, which is just not as cool. But yes...I will be getting one. I just dream of what might have been....
I believe (don't take my word for it) that making the helmet human-wearable would have subject it to stringent federal/state standards on material, build, etc. + liability from people actually trying to actually use it as a helmet. To make it human wearable, the thing would probably cost at least 200$.
