No you cant record -blam!- halo 3
Lets say for some stupid reason, you could, and lets just say thats what the X button is for. What the -blam!- are you going to do with the recorded footage? NOTHING. How can you get it to your PC? Windows Media? -blam!- that, its not Vista, so it wont happen.

Some people get misled and thats perfectly okay but the fact is that you will be able to record gameplay and what ive read has been from legit sources like egm AND bungie saying that it will be an interactive 3d manipulative of the game so that crazy and talented groups can do their machinima (Machine-em) a or game engine made video for those left in the dark on that subject. this leaves me to say-why would bungie compress it and chop down everything if it is going to be used for machinima? oh well-we'll all see this fall-so until we can do it-it doesn't really matter PEACE
